I think he could've had a decent chance in the 1976 election after reading the Papers. He was pretty popular and could've won the anti-war Left. I don't know why he waited to run for president until 2008 when he'd been out of office for decades and no one remembered him.
RIP a father and a grandfather. He was also the man who put the Pentagon Papers into public record.
throws rock in water ✊🏾😭
Oddly enough, Gravel was part of my political awakening.
Thank God he didn't win. Imagine a president passing away a mere few months into office.
At first I was gonna make a Gravel Institute joke, but everyone was speaking highly of him, so I guess this is not the gravel institute guy so I refrained
I honestly don't know why r/neoliberal of all places is talking up Mike Gravel. In addition to the Gravel Institute, he spent the last two decades of his life trying to convince people that 9/11 was an inside job.
I mean look I hate celabrating the deaths of people no matter how horrible they are. However, if we're going to do this to Republicans, Gravel should be fair game.
It's the same guy but I doubt he was ever that involved in the gravel institute
First learned about Mike when he put the moves on Obama Girl. He's crankin' that soulja boi in heaven now.
Not sure how I feel about Gravel himself but the existence of the Institute gives me a very bad impression of him
How much involvement do you think he had with the videos considering he was 90 and about to die
