I am a new grad, just graduated in May, and started my job back in June. It was a remote position, so I could work from anywhere, and I wanted to live somewhere else so I took the plunge and moved from Ohio to Chicago at the start of September. Just an hour ago I was notified that today was my last day at the company. I am awaiting his response but I am under the impression that my boss was not aware this was happening. I have a lease signed with 3 other people and just bought all new furniture and everything and literally just got my room to a usable state this past weekend. I have no idea what to do right now. It was a nightmare getting this one offer I did get and now I'm being plunged back into the job market with less than 3 months experience (I had no internships prior). I reached out to the career services guy at my scholarship foundation who helped me find and get this job in the first place, but I'm just so lost right now. Some important context I should add is that the company I was hired on with was acquired in July by a larger competitor. The CEO made a very clear promise to us that no jobs were going to be cut, and I believed that and took the plunge and moved. I know now to not trust anyone who makes promises like that.
