It’s so blatantly obvious she’s corrupt.

Get her gone

[–]ContWord2346 391 points392 points  (13 children)

These people are like shark teeth.

Let her sit there and take the blame for MOASS.

Edit: since this post sort of blew I I’ll expand. I’ve noticed these people set the conditions then throw their hands up and pretend they weren’t involved as usual and walk away. Let them stay in position so the people can see the scam artists for who they are. Let’s not forget about Ben Bernanke who started infinite QE, Lying Larry Summers, Alan “gold is money until I become chairman and change my mind” Greenspan. Janet Yellen is a multiple time offender of the “pains speech” or “good deal” money laundering payouts.

This is above Ken Griffen. He’s a foot soldier. The private western central bank aka the Fed is strangling this country and corporations.

[–]Beginnerslach 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Fuck well said!!

[–]ilikgutz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Is that why it's called a shark tank

[–]HappyMediumGD 41 points42 points  (2 children)

Shark teeth and whale teeth, I bet that's an old battle.

[–]StyrofoamCoffeeCup 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is a good idea. I like when you have good ideas.

[–]BuyingPowerLevel4Certified $GME MANIAC 3 points4 points  (1 child)

The shark teeth analogy is spot on my fellow ape. Wish I didn't spend all my money today buying GME stock, otherwise I'd give you gold.

[–]ContWord2346 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Save your money for GME. You and I know we exchanged gold in our hearts!

One love brother 🦍

[–]Clawkx 2 points3 points  (3 children)

What do you mean? You don't want her gone, because there are more like her? I don't get it.

[–]ContWord2346 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Yes. Greenspan, Bernanke, Volker, Summers, Geithner. There’s always another ex college professor who thinks they know how to run my life by counterfeiting the currency. They get payouts with book deals and “paid speaking” events.

[–]QuantumThirdEye 132 points133 points  (45 children)

We actually need to remove PACs from existence which allows this behavior in the first place.

It is a law both parties want to keep since it allows all politicians to make bribe money from big corporations such banks and hedge funds.

You kids will always and forever forget the bigger picture just as intended by corrupt politicians.

[–]HappyMediumGD 47 points48 points  (7 children)

End citizens united reinstate Dodd-Frank and glass-steagall, the people were robbed!!

[–]inaloop001 33 points34 points  (1 child)

Citizens United really screwed the American people.

[–]Excellent-Salt1084 11 points12 points  (2 children)

They should put the Citzens United vs Israel Boycott law of 1970 either money is free speech or it isn't.

[–]HappyMediumGD 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Corporations being people and money being speech. It's terrifying.

[–]aoechamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If money is free speech then why does the gov stop money laundering? 🤔

Sounds like a first amendment violation to me

[–]BossKitten99 23 points24 points  (33 children)

So, no more Republic and an actual direct Democracy? Easily attainable with todays technology and infrastructure. “Cast your votes on any smart device!” Yes, please. Goodbye antiquated, and easily corruptible politics.

[–]chudezee 14 points15 points  (3 children)

BLOCKCHAIN THE VOTE BABY!!!

[–]BigBradWolf77🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 2 points3 points  (0 children)

easy

plus no corruption

plus restoration of the people's faith in something they know is not subject to manipulation

[–]The-Catholic-Priest 15 points16 points  (19 children)

Ah yes, direct democracy, giving the people who shit on the floor in public restrooms even more, unfiltered power in government.

[–]decisions4me 10 points11 points  (3 children)

Government has shown to be dumber than the people in shit on the floor in public restrooms

[–]True-Emu5713 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Tbf I know that I have fallen asleep at the wheel in terms of paying attention to my local politics which is where everything starts. As it goes up we as a country must hold our political-parties accountable! Maybe it’s time for a 3rd party? Edit-I do not now nor have I ever shit on the floor.

[–]decisions4me 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It starts in local politics but money runs politics and political dynasties control a significant amount anyway. Local politics is just one avenue for corruption to grow.

Europe took 10,000 years to go from wagon type A to wagon type B. And sword type A(bronze) to sword type B(steel) but the US took 400 years to go from wagons to internal combustion engines and autonomous electric vehicles nuclear power, moon landings, the internet, touchscreen devices, all that.

It’s a combination of patent law to help innovators get rewarded combined with the valuing a system where every citizen owns access to economic resources. It’s capitalism and innovation. It wasn’t perfect, but there was an increasing quality of life.

It used to be that under 500 hours of minimum wage work could pay for a 4 year degree. It used to be that minimum wage from one household member can afford a college education car, house, and yearly vacation to Disney land, all Combined without debt that lasts more than 5 years.

Now, not even 4000 hours of minimum wage can afford a college degree without debt. Two minimum wages can’t afford a degree without debt. Two minimum wages can’t afford a house without debt that lasts over 5 years. Or a vacation to Disney. Or a house. Two minimum wages can’t support one of those without debt that lasts over 5 years.

it’s just crony capitalism and corporatism now. It’s all regulatory capture and lobbying. When big companies succeed they keep the profits and when they fail the public taxes pay for that failure. Its socialism for corporations and wage slavery for the common citizenry.

If today’s billionaires and key decision makers were placed in the US 1776, Britain would have needed just 6 months and half their army to completely quell the rebellion. Quality reasoning and critical thinking skills are just missing at all levels in society from the bottom to the top. And oh, is it MISSING at the top.

The smart people who value themselves deserve better.

[–]BossKitten99 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Everyone’s included... remember? Democracy. Even still, those with time, capability, general literacy, and money would have a stronger voting presence, and likely the kind of people who shit on floors are oblivious a vote is occurring

[–]mebaddour55 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The actual shit on the floor would do a better job running our country.

[–]Just_Another_AI 18 points19 points  (4 children)

The people who shit on the floor in public restrooms would probably run the country better than our current pathetic crop of elected officials

[–]decisions4me 16 points17 points  (3 children)

10,000% true.

Current politicians are so eternally worthless. They would rather put 5 million into poverty and suffering just to save themselves from using 5 calories worth of critical thinking skills.

There’s a lot of bad people in the world but politicians enable 99% of the suffering out in the word.

[–]TheSleuthSlayer 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Ah yes direct democracy because everyone shits on the floor and oligarchs have our interests always at heart

[–]0304200013082014 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Because the sophisticated elites are doing such a swell job of taking care of business as it is?

[–]FatPizzaMatt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lmao right. Idk how that guy drew a line from removing PACs to "no more republic"

[–]btran0919 101 points102 points  (53 children)

Biden put her in that role lol.

Exact same as how bush put Ben bernanke as fed chair during 2008 crash

[–]yolosapeien 77 points78 points  (49 children)

The party of the president does not determine whether or not there is corruption in our government. We should root out all corruption regardless of party.

[–]Orange_NorthMentally deranged 17 points18 points  (10 children)

Yeah but picture this: janet is now president. This is the degree the US is at

[–]BlackMoorGoldfish_ 13 points14 points  (9 children)

This is the degree the us has been for the last 30 years. Thinking it will/can change is laughable

[–]inaloop001 10 points11 points  (7 children)

It can change.

[–]Orange_NorthMentally deranged 3 points4 points  (4 children)

It just being kept from changing by corruption and manipulation. A civil war/ revolution is definetely needed imo and i think it will lead us into the next age

[–]ronoda12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What matters is who is doing it now because only that affects this sub.

[–]bgdzhang 10 points11 points  (21 children)

The Democrats are the servants of the big banks - $6 trillion mortgage fraud in 2008 and nobody went to jail.

[–]universetube7 21 points22 points  (20 children)

Democrats are servants of capitalism. Same as republicans.

[–]metameh 4 points5 points  (1 child)

The Democrats are the second most enthusiastically pro-capitalist party in the world.

[–]ronoda12 7 points8 points  (15 children)

Thats crony capitalism not free market capitalism.

[–]mf_dish 25 points26 points  (1 child)

[–]CampbellsMmMmGood🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 16 points17 points  (3 children)

Oh well, that's politics. You gotta pay back the people that financially helped you get elected.

[–]True-Emu5713 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Crony capitalism isn’t a requirement of capitalism-unfortunately our current system perpetuates it bc of many of the policies that are popular. IMO the lack of term limits in all areas of government only increases the likelihood of abuse of the system.

https://www.hoover.org/research/rise-crony-capitalism

[–]CampbellsMmMmGood🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This Crony guy is a dick to think of stuff like this.

[–]noitalljruss 106 points107 points  (16 children)

It DOESNT matter lol. We sound so pathetic, everybody at the top is corrupt. Doesn’t matter who gets caught or retires from their position, they will be replaced by another corrupt person.

[–]Outofoffice_onRisaI am not a cat 34 points35 points  (8 children)

Agreed one bad actor will just be replaced by another.

[–]mf_dish 7 points8 points  (3 children)

I don’t think they’re acting I think they’re just bad.

[–]HappyMediumGD 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I can see politicians running on their ticker positionss during this crisis

Let's flood the government with Apes

[–]noitalljruss 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Agreed, that’s how they keep control. No disrespect to anybody here who is just a little naive. That’s why they are the elite, they have to maintain control over the entire operation at the top levels or it won’t work. The very fact that dark pools are legal shows that they are corrupt at every level. Are there good decent people who work for the SEC? I’m sure there are plenty.... but it reminds me of when Trump was running for president and he kept lying to people to gain their trust by throwing the carrot out there that “i will drain the swamp, I’ll lock up Hillary etc etc” and nothing happened to her because they were old friends just playing both sides. Nothing ever happens with the corruption at the top, does that mean we give in? No but we have to understand that we will not get change from the government itself. The SEC will never truly go after these banks because they aren’t just taking on the banks, they are taking on corruption at every level and institution! Just gotta keep holding and getting more public awareness on the cheating they do to maybe force their hands a bit. Love you guys hang in there

[–]Wendigo565 5 points6 points  (1 child)

We said no politics but ¯_(ツ)_/¯

[–]Ignitus1 5 points6 points  (2 children)

This is the attitude that has allowed corruption to sit openly in the Kremlin for decades.

“If we remove them they’ll just be replaced with someone just as corrupt.”

Well then we didn’t do it right and we do it again. We do it again and again until they’re afraid.

[–]NotPresidentChump[S] 548 points549 points  (44 children)

She had previously received $900K so this represents a significant increase, coupled with the suspect timing and the entire thing reeks of corruption between hedge funds, banking and the current administration.

[–]Aka_Diamondhands🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 122 points123 points  (24 children)

I guess a lot of them are paid like in retainer, when ever something big need to be passed or needing to be stopped this triggers the golden payment to them. The way I see it is if you are a politician then that should be your only job, why do heck can you do side jobs. If that’s the case obviously your day job isn’t that busy so they should take a pay cut.

[–]ace425 21 points22 points  (22 children)

The way I see it is if you are a politician then that should be your only job, why do heck can you do side jobs.

On the surface this seems like a great way to reduce corruption, however the problem is that if we made this a hard rule, only the rich would ever be able to afford to become a politician. Anyone who couldn't afford to go 2 - 4 years without any income would never be able to take on a political position.

[–]HitmannGME 37 points38 points  (13 children)

I don’t believe that is true for one second. Cover the costs that are associated with their “job” as a politician and also pay them the median household income. Many Americans survive on less and do MORE for society.

[–]Aka_Diamondhands🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 10 points11 points  (9 children)

I guess it’s all depends on how much they need to run a campaign, in uk it’s quite transparent ish... where you can audit the politicians books. But even that you cant audit brown envelope and speaker fees.

[–]HitmannGME 10 points11 points  (7 children)

Campaigns are supposed to be financed by supporters through donations. Unfortunately here in US we have allowed the 1% of the 1% to literally buy politicians through the use of super pacs. We also allow outside money to have influence on state politics as well.

[–]Interesting-Bee7454🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 19 points20 points  (5 children)

I spent six years in City government in small town USA. I had to disclose any and all payments from government agencies and sources of income. Self employed I gave up lots of work to serve the City. These leeches are all intertwined scum and corrupt as hell.

They are swamp creatures.

[–]HitmannGME 8 points9 points  (3 children)

The level of corruption that has gripped the US, and IMO the entire world, is awe inspiring.

It amazes me how I still see so many comments blaming America for all the corruption when in reality, it’s damn near everyone’s fault in some way.

How many people turn a blind eye and put their head in the sand due to apathy? How many are willing to sacrifice others for their own personal gain? How many complain about the corruption but then make zero effort to expand their own knowledge so that they can make informed decisions? How many regurgitate the same talking points spewed by the bought and paid for MSM knowing full well they have no clue what they are saying?

I’d argue these people outnumber (by a large margin) the ones that are truly willing to step outside their comfort-zone and make the self-sacrifices needed to inspire innovation and actual progress.

IMO we humans deserve the pain we experience, because most of it is self-inflicted. Maybe Apes can finally break the cycle though. I know I believe in my fellow Apes.

[–]Biotic101🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Underrated comment.

[–]BigBradWolf77🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 2 points3 points  (0 children)

preach!

[–]Aka_Diamondhands🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed in principle you don’t want this to be a rich boy club but there is many ways you can get around this raising the remuneration of the current term and ongoing fees for one more term if they lose there seat but they must be doing active work in the community they are serving. This give them a chance to win the seat back. This way surely we can reduced the reliance on these side jobs. At the moment I see a lot of them treating this as a stepping stone onto platform to accumulate greater wealth rather than serve its original purpose.

[–]fushigidesune 3 points4 points  (2 children)

What? They get paid for being a politician. That's all they should get paid for.

[–]Jafrican05 2 points3 points  (3 children)

The average US Senators salary is $174,000. If that’s not enough to live on, then there’s a great thing called a budget they should get familiar with.

[–]Jollydude101🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 37 points38 points  (11 children)

Just saw this particular article this morning. Apologies but the $7M figure was new to me.

[–]kibblepigeon 21 points22 points  (1 child)

Whether it’s now or 6 months ago, corrupt politicians are still corrupt and this should still be brought to people’s attention, should it not? Unless, that is, if the situation has been resolved already but going to go out on a limb here and assume it hasn’t.

[–]Aka_Diamondhands🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 6 points7 points  (2 children)

7m fuck me I knew I should of took politics in class more seriously and my work experience in the car dealerships more seriously. Then I would of master the skills of lying in front of a camera and talk for a few hour without hitting any points

[–]hey_ross 8 points9 points  (3 children)

Say it with me people: government officials should be allowed to speak at industry events only if the government determines it’s necessary to inform a market maker or institution or the general public as to policy. Without compensation. There should be no money changing hands between private entities and government officials while in office for for a period of up to five years upon leaving office.

I'm not disputing that there might be some fuckery.... but the fact that the article quotes some random "bitcoiner" as it's source doesn't make it sound very uh... credible.

[–]LascarRamDass 6 points7 points  (2 children)

It's credible. She recieved those speaking fees around the time she was appointed by Biden.

[–]Groundbreaking_Goat1HODL 💎🙌 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She looks like a even more shriveled Palpatine. Of course she’s dirty

[–]SmallTimesRisky🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Once enough Ape Pressure is applied, she will have to answer the claims of deep corruption, conflict of interest. Resignation is the only solution 😎

[–]Curious_Razor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Internet is the eyes of the public, Once the spotlight is on, it's practically gameover.

[–]Ajawad87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is common corruption. It seems everybody takes a payout from Wall Street in the guise of “speaking fees,” even our beloved Obama

[–]Sobiquets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We all know that American politicians are never held accountable. So expect nothing to change

[–]WillDThrill72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please tell me if this is a surprise to anyone!

[–]Sudden-Yam-9225 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only her. Currently we’re as bad as a third world country. It starts from the top regardless of their political views/ideas/party.

[–]JamBOOMeroos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish the Euroapes would expose that Lagarde biiiarrrrtsch as well

[–]fonkyfresh86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Commenting for visibility ! Push to top ! This the whole fucking world should know!

[–]Morethanafollower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think all government officials should be banned from.speaking for $

[–]Stanlysteamer1908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cretinism is running our government and employees of corporations in charge of oversight. Nothing more corrupt than a salaried employee receiving pay to let them cheat while her donations add to her zoom calls. 🤦🏻😡🤬🤦🏻😡🤬🤦🏻😡🤬

[–]eatmyshortsmelvin'I am not a Cat' 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disgusting

[–]praisebetothedeepone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are Citi and Citadel connected?

Edit: Let me clairfy, the article points out $7.2M from Citi Bank and Citadel Securities. The article then clarifies to more than $7M from Citi Bank alone. So are Citi Bank and Citadel Securities connected?

[–]Suske10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We should overrun her Twitter page! Post amd comment this article! She’s Citadel friend and also opposes crypto in favor of the banks! I would suggest you to comment and we should also try to trend it on Twitter amd everywhere else.

[–]chudezee 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I just wrote my Congressman... You need to put pressure on your Representative and force her to resign or have Biden remove her!!!

[–]Game_of_Tendies 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The revolving door between Wall Street and Regulatory Bodies makes me fucking sick. These assholes take a few million dollars in speaking fees to sell out MILLIONS of Americans for billions of dollars to turn a blind eye to illegal behavior. I’ll have zero sympathy for anyone working in Wealth Management when this fraud finally burns the house down.

[–]magicpenisland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://www.swfinstitute.org/news/83524/janet-yellens-speaking-fees-and-income

$7.2m TOTAL… and from more companies than just citadel abs Citibank… which is different from what this article says.

WSJ reports the same thing: https://www.wsj.com/articles/yellen-earned-millions-in-speaking-fees-after-leaving-fed-disclosures-show-11609458480

[–]Journey2091 2 points3 points  (1 child)

This crooked b*tch is also destroying the future of all cryptos!!! If it isn't for her, there wouldn't be a crypto amendment going through congress!!!

[–]brainc0nfettiNo Cell No Sell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jail time is the floor

[–]nophoneenki 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Not just her but the entire fed is a criminal organisation. Why do you think they are so offended by crypto and gme, because it directly threatens their power structure and stops their ability to continue fucking the human race with their greed

[–]-Listening 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretending not to be trifled with

[–]TheRichCs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

7.8k upvotes but only 1400 signed. Smells like a campaign to dox apes. There's multiple posts on different subs.

[–]PropertyAdorable5246 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Question, will she actually have any reprocussions? Or buy her freedom?

[–]Ilovekbbq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought she was one of the good guys… fuck it’s so disgusting that all these people are the fucking same, so goddamn gross.

[–]generals_test 2 points3 points  (1 child)

They don't pay that much just because you are riveting speaker.

[–]J19Z7 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yellen is now moving to effectively ban a competitor of their Citi pay masters, the defi space, with a section sneaked into the Infrastructure Bill at the last minute

The Treasury Secretary... is adding provisions to a Congressional bill?

Cheap money clearly talks in politics, so cryptonians will now have to bribe pay ‘speaking fees’ as well and ‘donate’ petty sums of $100,000 or $1 million to the ‘elected’ with it unclear whether that would be just in time to save the freedom to publish open source code on blockchain networks without any licensing requirements.

The Treasury Secretary is elected now too?

lol

[–]stuffedrooster 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Maybe there should be some type of cap on how much money people in any government position can make, salary and/or private endeavors, during and for a period of time after as well.

[–]irishf-tard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crooked ☝️

[–]rcsteve418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine that

[–]NoScar3999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow I never knew this smh

[–]Yoacrypto'I am not a Cat' 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unsurprised

[–]Lithium98I am not a cat 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It makes me wonder what happens to people like this that they can be so cavalier and sleep well at night. They fully know they are destroying lives, and it doesn't phase them one bit. I think I understand the mind of a psychopath better than I can understand the mind of someone so selfish.

Psychopaths have a brain that doesn't work right, or at least, a brain that works differently (unable to empathize, etc.). People like Yellen are probably not psychopathic and that's why I can't understand how they can lack such empathy. Yellen has probably made enough money legally that she could live as comfortable a life as she does now, without doing anything immoral or illegal. She doesn't have to ruin millions of lives to live the way she does. She could even do a bunch of really good shit for people around the world and still be hella rich, but she chooses not to.

I just don't get it.

[–]Significant_Row_142🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its called speaking fees, which is a disguise for bribery. She is like 100 years old and still greaty and faul. 🤦🏻‍♀️

[–]Zealousideal-Team-55 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Start arrests and lock them up, then the corrupted dominos will fall.

[–]iyaerP 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Speaking as someone who campaigned HARD against Biden in the primaries, this is exactly the kind of shit that doesn't surprise me at all about his cabinet members. The man's entire political career was spent enriching Delaware investment banks at the expense of the middle class.

This shit right here? This is why participating in the political process is important. We had SEVERAL better candidates available to us, but idiots chose the 2nd worst of the lot and said "that's our guy."

[–]NotPresidentChump[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Agree completely. He was the establishments pick not the people’s.

[–]lazypasty 2 points3 points  (1 child)

yeah so who’s punishing citi bank

[–]slighymad715 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She needs to go.

Another thing learned from this whole saga: All of this conflict of interest ethics bs only applies to the common person. Ppl in power and with a certain net worth can always skirt the rules and get away with it.

Until now...

[–]MEMartizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And here I thought it was stating the obvious instead of an accusation.

[–]mygurl100 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Some obvious stuff here. I don't know how these people havent gone down yet. Crime

[–]Real-Personality-465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

accused? *yawn* call me when it's "arrested"

[–]plantshroom 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yet she is doing it openly and nothing is happening or about to happen

[–]plantshroom 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Now days corruption happens openly

[–]Crazy-in- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there one who's not sold?

[–]samandlorrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And this surprises you how?

[–]obscured949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can voice for her removal? She is corrupt!

[–]Funwork123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup 👍!

[–]Simphumiliator42069 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Anyone else’s floor go up from jail to death penalty or is it just me ?

[–]noitalljruss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This shit goes on all the time 24/7.
