I’m always interested to learn about people’s favorite artists. Sometimes it’s a massive artist like the Stones, Taylor Swift, or Nirvana. Similarly, I love it when people are obsessed with obscure artists I don’t recognize.

But who is the most famous artist/group who is well-liked but nobody’s favorite?

Gotta imagine it’s a popular band from the 70s-90s with a somewhat unique sound but nothing super groundbreaking. I was thinking maybe Boston? Everyone has their self-titled album and likes a few of their songs but I’ve never met anybody who would say they’re the favorite.

Which rock, pop and metal bands since the 1970s have had members come and go, fired or simply died off? What was the most consistent line-up for your favourite band? And did it hurt the band's music or popularity in the long run?
