The mother from the 8 passengers YouTube account got arrested after one of her kids escaped and asked a neighbour for food and water. He had been detained. The neighbour called 911.
Now it happens I’m in some Facebook mommy and (gentle) parenting groups and survived an abusive childhood (not to this extreme).
It is absolutely INSANE How many mothers in these groups think they have every right to treat their kids horribly and argue “well the law only requires me to feed and clothe them”
WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU HAVE KIDS when your ultimate goal is to treat them as horribly as possible?!
“Teenagers don’t have a right to privacy” “you should check their phone“(I agree only in cases of emergency or intense worry)
“take away the bedroom door” “ground them” and a LOT of them also agree with taking away food as a punishment. “Take away all their clothes” “get them to have their hair cut super short, that’ll teach them”
They want to punish toddlers for having meltdowns, fifths graders for not being excited about their homework, etc etc. things these children are not even developmentally capable of doing!
As long as people think like this, child abuse will be abundant.
I absolutely DO NOT think that the work environment was okay and I am NOT justifying what happened. I just had a quick question...
How many of you have ever felt depressed because of your job?
How many of you have ever hated your boss or manager because they did shit that made you miserable?
I know it sounds jaded as fuck but to me it just reads, "employees miserable at work because of horrible boss". Thousands upon thousands of working class, blue collar workers are trapped in jobs they despise because it pays the bills. Sometimes it doesn't even pay the bills. I don't know why someone would think that a celebrity millionaire boss would be any better than a supervisor at Target.
I guess I just don't have much sympathy for it.
