Coquina, tiny shells, is a natural seashell rock found in St. Augustine. The Castillo is the most significant building using this stone, but in St. Augustine 1st, the one remaining British building and 2nd period Spanish buildings are made of coquina. The Island itself was originally called La isla de la cantera (Quarry island) before it was named Anastasia Island. The rock was cut by hand and moved to Quarry creek and floated across the bay to the Castillo and city.

Dragged Across Concrete (2018)

Discussion

This was an amazing film.

This movie was a perfect blend between Action, Crime, and Drama. Wonderfully directed by S. Craig Zahler (only film Iโ€™ve seen from him!)

Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn stole show, but every actor who showed up on screen were perfect.

The story felt real and compelling, the antagonists felt cold-hearted and scary, and the ending was intriguing which sparked so many discussions for me afterwards.

Some people may dislike this film due to its slow burn, but I actually appreciated that aspect. Due to the slow burn, it led to me to actually be immersed during the stakeout scenes, it felt real as if I was watching cops on a stakeout.

Iโ€™m curious to hear what others who have seen this film think!
