Scary Movie (and sequels), What's Your Number and The House Bunny, all these movies work because of one thing: Anna Faris is AMAZING at portraying phenomenally clutzy characters, while never letting them become an outright laughing stock.

Just out of luck of the draw, I ended up watching What's Your Number on Netflix yesterday for a rom-com datenight. Not the most amazing movie (were we really still absolutely slutshaming women 12 years ago for how high their "body number" was? Kind of a weird premise), but the way Anna Faris manages to make the leading role as Ally be both endearing and somewhat layered (as far as the script allows), but also manages to bring the comedy to a higher level with mannerisms, facial expressions, a few actual dives,... is amazing. She's only surpassed by Amy Poehler, imo.

Two questions,

  1. what happened to Anna, as she seems to have faded away/never really gotten a truly big break, despite being hilarious (imo)?

and

2) and this moves a bit away from my love of Anna (The House Bunny is truly, no kidding, one of my favorite movies), but are there any movies out there bringing together MORE Avengers(-adjecent) characters together, before they were ever even considered to be Marvel material? In What's Your Number Ally has dated Donald (Chris Pratt, her husband at the time), Tom (Anthony Mackie without a beard looks weird), and Simon (Martin Freeman), before eventually ending up with Colin (Captain America himself, Chris Evans, one month before his first movie as Cap came out).
