Tesla revoked my ability to supercharge because of incorrect info on internet website!!!!
My battery randomly died on my 2021 Tesla in August 2023 and Tesla kept it for 3 weeks to replaced it, which was covered under warranty.
After the repair was complete, they gave it back to me on August 17th, 2023. Since then, i have been unable to supercharge. I assumed it was related to the battery replacement and so took it back to Tesla. They informed me that they have revoked my ability to supercharge. They said that whenever they do high voltage work, it triggers a title lookup and then found on CarFax and Equifax that my car had been declared a “total” loss with a “salvage title” from an accident that occurred (and was fully repaired by a Tesla certified auto-shop) back in 2022.
I pointed out the obvious... why would they would have replaced the battery, AT THEIR COST, in a car that was “totaled”? Chris at Tesla Service in North Scottsdale admitted that made no sense but that there was nothing that they could do.
Since the, I have provided Tesla, in writing and in person, the following:
-
Letter from State Farm stating that the car has never been totaled nor has it ever had a salvage title
-
Receipt from Caliber Collision in Scottsdale showing the 2022 repair in full (that did not involve the battery, btw)
-
Letter from Caliber Collision stating that the car has never been totaled
-
Clean title from the Arizona DMV!!!!
-
Letter from the Arizona DMV stating that my car has never been totaled nor has it ever had a salvage title!!
My car remains unable to supercharge, and therefore cannot drive for any distance. I can’t sell a Tesla that cannot supercharge. I live in a condo and am entirely dependent on the superchargers at the shopping center across the street.
There is literally no recourse for me. There is no longer any Tesla email to reach customer support. I have tried the app repeatedly. I continue to drive to Tesla in person (in my OTHER tesla, because i have purchased two brand new teslas over the years), asking for a status update, and they just continue to tell me that they’ve escalated it and there is nothing that they can do.
Anybody have any ideas?
Unfortunately got into an accident (hit and run, guy ran a red light) and did 23k worth of damage to my model 3. My insurance is calling it a total loss, but the valuation of my car feels way under. Similar mileage / same year run about 30k and that's what they're offering. What they're not including are the software upgrades - full self driving in particular. None of those 30k models have the same software upgrades. I also had acceleration boost, but that was after my initial purchase so I am assuming won't get much from that. My argument would be if I wanted a similar car I would have to pay the 30k for one of those cars and then pay the 12k for the full self driving upgrade. Am I wrong for expecting this to be included in my cars value?
