I'm going to say Dominican Republic!!!
This morning I was in class and our professor was speaking on the topic of Slavery
as he was stating how the first stops were in the Carribean like Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, & Dominican Republic and this is why lots Caribbeans are mulattos one classmate interrupted him and he said that actually most Dominicans are "Indios" not black and people are confusing Dominicans Indigenous people for black people and of course this guy stating this is a very African American looking Dominican guy that we were all just annoyed by his statement and there was another guy in class that was African American telling him "bro you really think you know more than the teacher and you literally black bro" the guy replied by saying "I'm not Black' and I've never been more embarrassed in my life as this class only had 3 other Latinos and he made us look stupid. I feel as a Central American we are very proud of our Indigenous ancestors as well as Mexicans they seem proud of their Aztec ancestors, yet Dominicans hate to call Black Slaves their ancestors it's like they are brainwashed to believe they are something that they are not. Let me know your thoughts as I just felt I needed to ask and share this with you guys...
