Pardon the piggyback but wanted to ask:

Those of us in Europe who have military, medical or emergancy-rescue-training is there any way we can volunteer physically in person?

Ofcourse no ideas of grandeur or wanting to be a hero on the front, more that I at least have my nurse-/military-firstreponse training as well as K9 handling/training for for example search and rescue, finding explosives etceter. Whilst my ol' granny mum is old enough to not give a shit if she's in danger so she's contemplating on forward-base surgery or the ilk since she's a twice doctorate senior physician and have worked with ER and trauma response in danger-zones before.

[–]smity31 156 points157 points  (63 children)

I saw this link in another comment to an organisation called Army SOS. It may be worth getting in contact with them.

[–][deleted] 63 points64 points  (32 children)

How do we know that is a legitimate organization?

[–]s1de8008 98 points99 points  (13 children)

The Ukranian embassador in Norway talked about this charity today on his press conference, its about giving money to the army, not joining the army

at 2:44:32 https://tv.nrk.no/serie/nyheter/202202/NNFA12022422/avspiller

[–]latejens 4 points5 points  (8 children)

NRK is probably blocked outside norway..

[–]Trugdigity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can get there from the US, but its in some weird troll language. :P

[–]shookones2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could watch it and Im in switzerland

[–]theothersinclair 34 points35 points  (6 children)

It was also linked from a Ukraine on twitter on how to support Ukraine on this link: https://uacrisis.org/en/help-ukraine

Edit: for clarity.

[–]shookones2 10 points11 points  (8 children)

I was unsure about that group as well and instead donated directly to a special account that the National Bank of Ukraine opened to raise funds to help tje Ukraines military. Their website is bank.gov.ua Seems more legit and trustworthy than Army SOS. And it seems like this will accomplish the same as donating to Army SOS - helping the Ukrainian military.

[–]thatDANGERkid 26 points27 points  (18 children)

The Army SOS website looks pretty brutal.

[–]United States of Americadigging_for_1_Gon4_2 42 points43 points  (12 children)

They are fighting a war bud

[–]thatDANGERkid 15 points16 points  (6 children)

No kidding. The website wasn’t designed three days ago, the organization has been around for awhile. I donated money to a few other sites linked here - but this group made me nervous to enter credit card information into.

I wonder if others upon navigating the site had a lack of trust and decided to donate elsewhere.

[–]An_Oxygen_Consumer 27 points28 points  (34 children)

You could try to get in contact with NGOs operating in the region, as for military experience you should see whether it is legal, for instance in Italy AFAIK it is illegal for italian citizens to fight for a foreign army

[–]Krehlmar 20 points21 points  (6 children)

Yeah that's why I said trainer or medic. Not gonna use weapons since it is not mine war to fight.

[–]Majestic-Macaron6019 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I wonder if MSF has any teams around...

[–]bunnyHop2000 68 points69 points  (63 children)

Hijacking the top comment - donation systems can be a bit cumbersome to use from abroad. The first one (Save Life) does have an English version (top right corner) and if you use fondy[dot]eu like they say, it should go through without a hitch. Other charities may have similar quirks.

[–]FlyingDragoon 16 points17 points  (2 children)

Potential for this communities ability to volunteer translate these pages for them into as many languages as possible to help those not present to donate?

[–]Hereforinfo333 26 points27 points  (33 children)

Hello! I'm new to cross-border donations (I'm US-based). Can you confirm that if we send payment via the fondy[dot]eu link the website provides, our money will be sent directly to the mission the charity supports?

Also, does anyone know if these charities are 501(c)3 eligible in the United States (i.e. income tax-deductible)? I ask because it will be simpler to mobilize larger donations from friend/family if so. I will do my own research as well and post updates here.

[–]bunnyHop2000 20 points21 points  (14 children)

Apologies, I'm very much in the same boat as you, the only difference being our continents. Hopefully, someone local can answer. However, these links have been up for a month now with no one really contesting their validity. I made my choice based on that.

For now, I'd suggest putting in a small amount quickly because time is of the essence. Twenty bucks goes a long way in Ukraine.

[–]Hereforinfo333 8 points9 points  (2 children)

That was the logic I went with as well. I sent some money over without issue. Thanks for providing the guidance you did it helped!

[–]andylikescandy 26 points27 points  (11 children)

Doing the same to ask a question - how much of this money will be confiscated/redirected by Russian authorities once Russia has physical control over Ukraininan banks?

How do we continue our support from abroad once this has happened?

[–]bunnyHop2000 21 points22 points  (2 children)

I expect we're still some time away from that (with a very fair chance it doesn't happen, too) so if the donation goes out early enough, I think it still works. Very valid concern, though.

[–]Ukrainechately 19 points20 points  (9 children)

Sorry for piggybacking, but our minister of digital transformation opened accounts for donation to our army in crypto:

  • BTC - 357a3So9CbsNfBBgFYACGvxxS6tMaDoa1P
  • ETH - 0x165CD37b4C644C2921454429E7F9358d18A45e14
  • USDT (trc20) - TEFccmfQ38cZS1DTZVhsxKVDckA8Y6VfCy

proofs: telegram, article in russian, article in ukrainian (both articles point to telegram).

[–]juraj 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Get this to the top!!

Also what's the mod doing? Why isn't the national bank page with payment instructions up there?

[–]olive_gander112 237 points238 points  (46 children)

Am Russian, against the war. Was pulling hair out trying to figure out what I can do that won't be contributing to more death. Just donated to Hospitallers, thanks for putting this list together.

[–][deleted] 99 points100 points  (11 children)

We're sorry Russian leadership has caused this stressful time for you. Please do not risk arrest over aid.

[–]Relevant_Struggle 92 points93 points  (14 children)

As an american, please know that everyone i know does not think this is about the Russian people. The blame goes to putin. The Russian people are suffering too

[–]rodsn 36 points37 points  (9 children)

Yep. No people want war anymore. It's the oligarchs, politicians and world leaders. Fuck them. Fuck dictatorships, specially the ones disguised as democracies like Russia

[–]rodsn 34 points35 points  (2 children)

Your people are protesting this bullshit: https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/t0e2lb/people_in_st_petersburg_are_allegedly_protesting/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Quite courageous, given that Russia is basically a fascist regime and protesting is illegal. Keep standing against your dictators. Much love to those who are seeing their government go against your wishes as a people

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Especially due to what propaganda has been circulating

[–]Busy-Statistician573 33 points34 points  (1 child)

If you’re actually in Russia please please be careful.

[–]Weazelfish 19 points20 points  (1 child)

On top of all the support that goes out to the Ukranian civilians, this is also going to be awful for the Russian people, especially dissendents. Stay strong.

[–]I am Alphariusjesterboyd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good choice, thank you. Watch this if you haven’t already: https://youtu.be/0iqDvh1HrJA

[–][deleted] 176 points177 points  (55 children)

Great list! Just want to suggest another group to add, Army SOS I used to work with them back in 2014. A really great group that helped out the soldiers on the front.

Hospitalers are a great organization, they definitely need more attention.

[–]Ukraine1stSgtHornt 61 points62 points  (42 children)

Perhaps you could let them know, that they are wasting a huge amount of funds by accepting only SWIFT (which takes $45 per transaction of any amount for themselves, or Western Union (takes 10% of the transaction).

They can collect donations via PayPal, FaceBook (both accounts likely need to be set up in the USA), many others crowdfunding platforms, and of course BitCoin (or another popular crypto currency).

[–]Imperceptive_critic 16 points17 points  (22 children)

Yeah how does that work? I looked at the Hospitaller FB page and I don't understand the wire transfer instructions. I don't normally send $ internationally so I'm kinda new at this.

[–]JivanP 12 points13 points  (17 children)

Wire transfers are not a thing in Europe. The use of the phrase "wire transfer" to mean any bank payment is an Americanism. To make international payments to European countries (and some others), a system called SWIFT is used, in which a bank account is identified using a single string called an IBAN (International Bank Account Number), and the bank/branch is identified using a string called a BIC (Bank Identification Code, also often called a "SWIFT code" or "SWIFT/BIC (code)").

Depending on your bank, the process may be different online, but generally you just go to the "international payments" or "make a payment" section and provide the IBAN and BIC, and they work out the rest, including telling you their exchange rate. If you're doing it over the phone or in-person, just tell them you want to make an international payment, and they'll ask for the right details.

Many banks charge hefty fees or unfavourable exchange rates to send international payments. You may like to use a proxy system like Wise (formerly TransferWise), which is like Western Union, but much cheaper, and the money lands directly in the recipient's bank account.

[–]juraj 5 points6 points  (15 children)

In the EU, if you're in the Eurozone, the situation is even better.

The Ukraininan national bank has a german SEPA EUR account open, and SEPA transfers are usually free and instant.

[–]patatalyfe 162 points163 points  (56 children)

I’m a Ukrainian living in Canada and I stand with Ukraine. Thank you for sharing this. I’ll be supporting these charities and sharing this link with my friends and family members.

[–]LordBaikalOli 34 points35 points  (26 children)

I wish our canadian government, like all other western democracy, would do more to guarantee the freedom of the ukrainian people. We should all call our federal deputy to ask them to do better.

[–]orbitalUncertainty 36 points37 points  (16 children)

Stole this from a top comment in the news thread on Japan condoning condemning Russia's actions: \

Japan just declared they would be willing to join sanctions. Current major players are:

• US - 20$ Trillion GDP

• UK - 3$ Trillion GDP

• EU - 17$ Trillion GDP

• Japan - 5$ Trillion GDP

Economies representing over half of global GDP have declared they are willing to heavily sanction Russia. I wonder how damaging they will truly be, Russia has an economy smaller than Italy's but significant reserves and some tacit economic ties with China.

Add in:

• Canada - 1.5$ Trillion GDP

• Australia - 1.3$ Trillion GDP

• EFTA - 1$ Trillion GDP (potentially)

End quote

This doesn't seem insignificant

[–]kimj17 25 points26 points  (2 children)

South Korea too, currently top exporter in microchips. No more Russian computers

[–]gogo_yubari-chan 18 points19 points  (1 child)

South Korea is also joining the sanctions

[–]spartanburger91 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Condemning, not condoning.

[–]orbitalUncertainty 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Absolutely meant that, fixed now

[–]Successful_Opinion33 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Our govs won’t. It will come down to vets and such to go there

[–]CalHydroxTX 25 points26 points  (9 children)

There’s a Ukrainian church where I live, I know this comment is 32 after your initial post but I used to work with Ukrainian guys at a pool company over a decade ago. Being that there is a Ukrainian church in my town what can I do to help without being the over invasive American? Fuck Trump and Putin with the same rusty nail.

[–]Rosieapples 9 points10 points  (6 children)

I’m in Ireland and I’m wondering whether we will be receiving refugees from Ukraine. If so we’d better get cracking collecting clothing, bedding etc.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (2 children)

The Irish government announced earlier today that they are waiving the Visa requirement for Ukrainians to come to Ireland, thankfully, so I would expect to see refugees if this drags on

[–]Rosieapples 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We’d better start gearing up then. They’ll probably arrive with only the clothes they stand up in, God help them.

PLEASE ALSO SUPPORT UKRAINIAN ORPHANS at www.oasukraine.org

This non-profit is very close to my heart and is struggling to stay afloat as most donors are US-based, but orphan sponsorships have dropped significantly over the past few years. Please consider checking out our website to learn more about the aid we provide.

Thank you!

[–]berrtha 36 points37 points  (1 child)

My heart breaks for all of Ukraine. It hurts the most for the children. FUCK PUTIN!

[–]atreeindisguise 98 points99 points  (9 children)

I'm beginning to realize where the Russian trolls are simply because when I vote up on an article, the vote counter immediately scrolls right back down. All because some poor guy has to sit at a computer and downvote if something gets an upvote. It has to be the worst job and for so little pay. I would hate to sell my soul for such a low wage.

[–]atreeindisguise 39 points40 points  (2 children)

Russian hacker, you can make 100k in America doing this for us. Come on brother.... It's nice and warm over here and the food is great.

[–]sugaredviolence 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I noticed that too, and thought it was just me glitching out. Guess not.

[–]AllDressedKetchup 10 points11 points  (2 children)

I have noticed this on Twitter - particularly this week!

[–]10390 64 points65 points  (40 children)

I’m just an English speaker with a credit card, can someone here please help me figure out how to help Hospitallers?

[–]MudaThumpa 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Yeah, I looked at some of the links and they aren't in English. I've had a Ukrainian-American construction company help me work on my house in the past, so I just texted the owner to see if I can send him money that he can direct as he sees fit. Waiting for him to reply.

[–]ArrPeaSea 9 points10 points  (12 children)

I would like this answered…

[–]10390 10 points11 points  (11 children)

I asked about this on facebook as well and got an answer, but I don’t really understand:

“For currency transfers you can use the RIA service. The phone is linked to the card +380975779795”

[–]ArrPeaSea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not sure what that means either. I sent a direct message to them on Facebook asking for help but they haven’t answered yet. If they are able to help I will post here what’s they tell me.

[–]Tsvetaevna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also trying to figure this out. There must be some way to donate somewhere without the iban route…?

[–]canadianredditor16 59 points60 points  (38 children)

good list but is their any charity that will fund lethal equipment to the front lines

[–]UkraineUtida93 26 points27 points  (14 children)

Save Life regularly contribute to the battle power of Ukrainian sniper groups. Snipers are the guys who kill a lot of moskals on Donbas.

[–][deleted] 46 points47 points 2 (11 children)

Be careful this is a brand new account.

[–]Successful_Opinion33 17 points18 points  (11 children)

Ask any American veteran. We can’t figure out how to go legally

[–]throwawayed_1 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Asking the important questions

[–][deleted] 56 points57 points  (16 children)

Nonlethal military equipment?

Where can I donate for lethal military equipment? If Russia invades, I want every inch to cost them.

Simo Häyhä the shit out of them if they touch a toe across the border.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (1 child)

I'm donating to SOS army I figure for anything non lethal we help them with they can spend money on lethal stuff they need.

[–]Sanch0s1337 40 points41 points  (61 children)

National Bank created separate account for direct donations to the Ukrainian Army.

Not accessible from Singapore right now.

"This request was blocked by the security rules"

Could you confirm you can still access it from your location, please?

[–]HelpfulFoxSenkoSan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Note that fees for transfer are high, for example my donation:

https://i.imgur.com/jTiywgW.png

Almost half the donation is fees.

So if you cannot afford to donate very much (like me), it may be better to donate to a charity which can accept other payment (credit, paypal, etc).

[–]aim456 40 points41 points  (21 children)

How do I help them buy ammunition to defend themselves from the Russians?

[–]zavorad 12 points13 points  (8 children)

There are bunch of volunteers that do crowdfunding for stuff like thermal goggles, cameras etc

[–]Lesialittleadventure 2 points3 points  (6 children)

That’s a link with swift of our most recognizable CF “Safe live”, Повернись живим». They have been actively raising funds in January and they are trustworthy. https://savelife.in.ua/donate/?fbclid=IwAR059VuVbIBPEtKWYHLr-RCVSlwmhzf6NSASYw90Xl2a7oaeR266_MX8yOM

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (5 children)

Be wary of new accounts.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Best way to get munitions to Ukrainians is to talk to your government representative. Black market munitions almost always end up in the wrong hands.

[–]haurbalaur 33 points34 points  (1 child)

I'm the president of an NGO in Romania and have taken some of these links and posted them on our Facebook page for our locals to do the right thing and help out. All the best, and we wish you courage!

[–]Slouchingtowardsbeth 30 points31 points  (11 children)

One way to pay for these donations is to profit off of Russia's downfall. Just short the entire Russian market (stock symbol ERUS). It's dropped 27% in the last 5 days. Once the tanks roll into Ukraine it will fall so much more. I can't think of anything more poetic than sanctioning Russia and donating the profits to Ukraine.

[–]norfizzle 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Smart move. How much have you made so far and where are you sending it to?

[–]iopq 7 points8 points  (1 child)

So far I made almost $2,500 and I will donate to the Ukranian armed forces

[–]VantasnerDanger 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I'd also like to know....this is a great idea.

[–]AutoModerator[M] 30 points31 points  (5 children)

  • DO NOT SHARE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT MOVEMENTS, LOCATION OR IDENTIFICATION OF ANY OF THE UKRAINIAN ARMED FORCES.

There is urgent need to form some sort of well coordinated groups for online resistance to pro russian trolling and misinformation. Here in reddit russians acts and often behave as if they own it , along with youtube and other platforms. On news channels like Euronews , TRT, BBC they sit on regular basis and most pro Ukrainian or anti russian opinion either banned or simply dissolves among well trained russian trolls. This war you facing is not only on the field, as amount of russians and pro russians Hindu or Thai english speaking trolls is overwhelming, they understand that holding certain amount of public support in west is a secure way to control and manipulate entire governments as we see in case of France, Germany or even US...dunno if Im writing in right place , just want to bring your attention to it, but probably you already know it.

[–]motofanka 18 points19 points  (11 children)

[–]The-Rare-Road 6 points7 points  (9 children)

Can anybody help explain how donations through that method work? would I need to go to my bank in person to do it or what? I am just used to donating to various charities through paypal usually, I want to help but a lot of these methods seem very different from what I am used too.

Going to pick up some boxes tomorrow, and buy some medical supplies then send it over to Ukraine at some point and hopefully it will fall in to the right Ukrainian hands once it arrives.

Support from this English man who once visited your land just a few years ago.

[–]motofanka 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I used my chase bank, you can do it online, like a wire transfer.

It’s a good idea about a package, however I’m not sure if it will be able to get there, unless it’s dropped off with someone like Red Cross if they are going there

[–]The-Rare-Road 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you, will have a look to see If their is a way later for me to do it..

and the post should hopefully be able to get there I am not sure how long it might take, lots of supplies to Ukraine can still come from Western Europe into Ukraine, I don't have much money on a personal level, but was thinking of getting some Bandages and sending them all in a Box, to an address that was listed on a social media Ukrainian charity website.. that basically gives Medical help to those on the frontline.

I feel really bad after having visited Ukraine like three years before this Invasion and now witnessing what I am today with this War as a result of Putin's actions and I just feel like I have to do something to help in some way, It feels wrong not too as I love the Ukrainian people and they were very good to me during my time their on holiday.

[–]UkrainePriestAdsky 15 points16 points  (4 children)

I'd recommend Повернись живим (Come home alive)

[–]srkdpu 4 points5 points  (3 children)

I tried 3 different ways to donate to this organization but it doesn't seem to work. Patreon gives me deleted page, card and iban didn't go through. Any ideas what can actually reach them and make a difference?

[–]Define_Denis 16 points17 points  (3 children)

Please add Revived Soilders Ukraine. They help soldiers who’ve lost limbs, have gotten injured, and have been mortally wounded. They presented this charity at my school and I hope more people donate to the charity. A lot of the soldiers have families and the things this charity has done is amazing. Sorry if some of this doesn’t make sense, I’m still shaken from the attacks.

[–]olive_gander112 18 points19 points  (1 child)

r/Russia is a shithole of kremlinbots and edgy pro-Russian foreigners. r/Liberta is a better depiction of actual Russians, though only the anti-Putin ones. Most real russians don't share their actual opinions online as it could be punished by law...

[–]Combat-WALL-E 14 points15 points  (1 child)

I live in germany. My government doesnt want to send anything other then helmets so here I am.

I wish I could somehow send funding to the donation of anti aircraft weapons (since that seems to be a problem the Ukrainian army currently faces) but sadly it doesnt seem like that is an option so I will probably just go with the Save Life org. Honestly there should be a full on lend lease 2.0 going on at the moment, wtf is NATO doing? The minimal of support by european NATO countrys proves that "NATO agression" is indeed not the problem.

[–]apyc89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just donated $1000 to this effort: https://www.gofundme.com/f/helpukrainenow-ukraine-humanitarian-appeal (I'm in Canada). I am not sure if this will IMMEDIATELY help the effort.

Would love to help more but unsure if donating to orgs like Army SOS and Hospitallers will immediately help - especially front line. Not sure how they will procure supplies at this moment

Which organizations will make the most immediate impact to either rescue or war effort?

[–]Aust-SuggestedName 11 points12 points  (2 children)

US here. What donation options would be strategically best to donate to help hedge against the possibility of a sustained/prolonged resistance against Russia? I obviously can't like donate a tank or something, but I want to help ensure that in the worst-case scenario I do my part to help make sure Ukrainians have resources they need should they be besieged for an extended time.

[–]lazyubertoad 10 points11 points  (7 children)

Not really a charity, straight up ministry of defense - Assistance for logistical and medical support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Just donated €50. Go Ukraine!

[–]MrCombine 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Will be donating, stay safe my Ukrainian friends (and my Russian friends who understand this is wrong) I'm on the other side of the world feeling powerless to help, hopefully my small donation will help you during these horrifying times. My heart breaks for you.

Dear Ukrainians!

I heard on social media that there is fake news being spread (most likely by Russia backed trolls) that polish border is closed.

It's a lie.

If you seek asylum - go towards polish border. We are ready for your arrival. We have reception points ready at the border where you can find shelter, food, medical and legal aid.

Polish government launched a dedicated site to help you: ua.gov.pl

Please share this information if you know anyone seeking help right now.

YOU DON'T NEED VISA TO PASS THROUGH POLISH BORDER. ALL YOU NEED IS PASSPORT. VISAS ARE SUSPENDED! YOU DON'T NEED THEM FOR TIME BEING!!!!!!

proof that you no longer need visa:

• in Ukrainian https://www.gov.pl/web/udsc/ukraina---ua • in English https://www.gov.pl/web/udsc/ukraina-en

copied from u/everysir to spread awareness! please spread on relevant threads to get the word out!!!

[–]Einherjaren97 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Any sites/links for english speaking people?

[–]Personal_burner_9894 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Is there a Save Life donation page in English? I'm fully illiterate in Ukranian. Was hoping being half literate in Russian would help but no luck. If I done using a credit card in usd I should enter the hryvnia amount correct?

[–]DukeOfSquirrels 8 points9 points  (0 children)

thank you for this list. I'd like to submit one to add if you want to - it's Save Wild .org, they run the "White Rock Bear Shelter" where they give homes to bears they rescue from abusive and inhumane environments. I have been following them for a long time and respect the work they do. they are located just east of Kyiv and I'm worried about them.

[–]USAstdio-lib 8 points9 points  (1 child)

If giving tears was charity, I would be the world's biggest donor. Ukranians, I love you.

[–]jaxie88 7 points8 points  (9 children)

Is there any reliable/legitimate agency or fund we can donate to to help with ammunition and weapons?

[–]NoMaamClub 9 points10 points  (4 children)

Are you joking?

Send food and clothes. Leave it up to governments to send weapons.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check Army SOS, I do not know if they do weapons, but they used to supply front line soldiers with equipment.

[–]CapableSherbert6807 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Support Ukraine from Hong Kong

[–]searine 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Save Life: This NGO crowdfunds non-lethal military equipment, such as thermal vision scopes & supplies it to the Donbas front lines. It also provides training for Ukrainian soldiers, as well as researching troops’ needs and social reintegration of veterans.

FYI they have a patreon. https://www.patreon.com/savelife_in_ua

[–]Macroneconomist 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Guys how do i donate directly to the Ukrainian military

[–]KrayleyAML 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you! As a Venezuelan, I'll never forget your support for our fight. I've never stopped supporting yours. Stsnd strong Ukraine!

[–]Ghost1069 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Any chance to add this one?

"The Ukraine Humanitarian Fund is a country-based pooled fund. Pooled funds support a timely, coordinated and principled humanitarian response.

Your donation will help humanitarian NGOs and UN agencies in the Ukraine to assist the most vulnerable communities and people, and to provide them with urgently needed food, water, shelter and other basic support. Through this rapid and flexible response mechanism your gift today can be truly life-saving."

https://crisisrelief.un.org/t/ukraine

I was looking into sending money thorugh the NGOs mentioned in the sticky post (https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/s6g5un/want_to_support_ukraine_heres_a_list_of_charities/), but after checking up some, I realized most do not have an account on a EU bank.

That means that for EU residents is much more expensive to send them help. For example, for 100€ sent, around 40 are spent on fees and simply sending it. In contrast, from 100€ donated to the fund, 97 reach their target.

I share this because I haven´t seen the Fund mentioned and because I wanted to help but didn´t want around 40-50% of the money to be spent on fees.

Hope this helps. All opinions and suggestions on the matter are welcomed.

[–]Delicious-Storage1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Has anyone heard of "razom for Ukraine"?

My wife is a Ukrainian citizen/lives in Ukraine, and she shared this organization with me as another place to donate. We were recently married, always planned to have her move to the US as a permanent resident/possibly dual citizenship, and are now in Poland filing paperwork to that end.

[–]-quakeguy- 5 points6 points  (6 children)

I am a russian living in EU, deeply anxious and ashamed of what Putin is doing. I am willing to support Ukraine in repelling this aggression, in person if needed, without regard for my personal safety or what happens to my posessions in my current EU country of residense. I am an IT professional with a background in server maintainence, development and incident handling. Also willing to take actual arms but I have no training. Who do I contact?

[–]pyro1279 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda hoping this reddit gets big.
r/rehomeukraine
It was made to help connect refugees with places to stay in nearby countries. It's a baby reddit. But one that maybe could offer peace to the newly homeless :'(

[–]BANNEDSuccessful-Car1438 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I am agonizing over this situation for real. Have been for a few weeks ever since news from Belarus border filtered.

You know decades ago when my country was occupied by Nazis, a decent sized contingent of the Resistance fighters were actually foreigners - Spaniards, Italians, Poles, Hungarians, Jewish Slavs etc. They fought and shed their blood to liberate my country and fight fascism

Now for the past few days my blood has been boiling, my head is in turmoil. I sit at work but cannot concentrate, while routine around me continues as usual. How can I be sitting my ass entering numbers in an Excel spreadsheet all day, when my European neighbours are isolated, fighting to the bitter end an authoritarian invader in street warfare with last minute rifles. How can I be here being useless when Putler is 30 kms away from Kyiv??

For the past hours, I have been seriously considering cutting my career short, quitting my job immediately and jumping on the next flixbus to Kyiv, to fight the Russians. This is the one opportunity of my life to actually do something that truly matters, to fight for my beliefs, instead of being the passive, useless spectator I have been until now. I am itching to repay the sacrifices of the Partisans.

And then reality comes back at me I am blind as a bat with terrible myopia, if I loose my glasses in combat I might as well commit suicide on the spot. I have no experience in fighting whatsoever. And, after further reading Ukrainian input, I realize I absolutely cannot differentiate Ukrainian from Russian and I speak neither.

So let's say I make the journey and destroy my entire life, for what? The most I could do right now would be to blindly throw molotov cocktails from a bedroom window.

In the end you are right, as a foreigner sending funds is really the most useful I can be to the cause.

[–]CompSci1 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Question/idea, could we not start a thread here with info for how foreign fighters can join the war? There should be info plastered all over this page telling people who want to join and fight russia how to do it and even get them funding for plane tickets. A lot of people in the south USA are itching to get over there and help yall.

edit: found it https://www.reddit.com/r/volunteersForUkraine/

[–]epSos-DE 5 points6 points  (4 children)

This was not on the list. It's a direct account of the UKR military that they use to buy equipment :

https://bank.gov.ua/en/news/all/natsionalniy-bank-vidkriv-spetsrahunok-dlya-zboru-koshtiv-na-potrebi-armiyi

[–]Drinksandknowsthangz 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Question... and this may be ridiculous, but I would like to help in the way I can... is it possible to offer room and board to any fleeing Ukrainians? I'm a Canadian and would offer paid plane tickets, room and board, plane tickets back, as well, at my expense for any Ukraines fleeing the country.. Please let me know..

[–]disharmony-hellride 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would do this too, in America.

[–]Ciaran123C 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Warning

It has come to my attention that OP listed a group which may have a connection to a far right military group called the ‘Right Sector’. This group is listed here as the ‘Hospitalliers’. Please DO NOT DONATE to this group. Normally I would suggest deleting a post with such a link, but there are too many links to humanitarian groups who urgently need help, and so at this time I feel I can’t. All I can say is, please RESEARCH ANY GROUP ON THIS LIST BEFORE DONATING!

Thank You

[–]Taiwan_Pineapple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was hoping to do some catering on the forward bases, I'll make ya the best burgers and deep fried haggis and pizza for breakfast. I can't think of a better way to die. Give me address in Kiev to send my resume and application to join Ukraine army.

[–]Victorious_Rose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this list, I will get acquainted with these and definitely make a donation.

As a Finn with a long and bloody family history of fighting off Russian invaders, I feel very deeply and personally affected by what is happening & truly admire the courage and spirit Ukrainians have expressed in this fucked up situation.

Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

[–]Its_Fish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, try reducing your gas consumption. Gas prices for Ukrainians (and all of world really) are likely to skyrocket.

[–]lym666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Support from China!Ukraine stay strong!

I'm trying to donate through GFW!

[–]Ragged_Insomnia-A 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an Iranian I wish you guys good luck

[–]-TrustyDwarf- 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Thanks for compiling this awesome list.

Just a thought... a "donation to a charity organization" might be deemed "financing of a terrorist organization" tomorrow, depending who is at power, putting previous donors at risk. Even some people from Russia commented that they donated to Ukrainian organizations, probably putting themselves at risk right now. Even for a citizen of the EU it might be illegal to donate to at least some of the listed organizations.

For the safety of donors organizations should be asked to offer anonymous payment methods.

Some crypto currencies like Monero come to mind. Most other crypto currencies, including Bitcoin, are not anonymous and actually quite easy to trace.

(public disclosure: I use, love and contribute to Monero myself.. because I value freedom and our right to privacy)

Peace

[–]SeparatePromotion236 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I’ve donated to some Ukraine and Polish foundations that are helping. However I need some help confirming an IG post which said if we want money to go directly into the hands of Ukrainians on the ground one way would be to book a few nights at an AirBnB in Ukraine (first messaging to check if they are owners or a company, and supporting the former). Obviously not to come and stay now but to just get some money direct into people’s hands?

Is this a good idea or not?

[–]denismanus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, the idea is that when you book housing in Ukraine, you transfer money to the owners of the apartments, which most often shelter people. I have four refugees from Kharkiv living there now. I don't need money, but there are those who do.

[–]parsimonyBase 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the post, I'll be supporting one of the charities listed. Stand strong Ukraine and good luck from the UK.

[–]tizadu 3 points4 points  (6 children)

Anyone got a link to donate to Hospitalers? I couldnt find one on the facebook page...

[–]ThrowAway2142022AZ 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I've updated the list with additional suggested resources, charities, as well as red notices for which sites are at present possibly compromised by Russian cyber attacks.

https://pastebin.com/BPRD49e2

The list will be updated in the coming days with additional resources and organizations to help Ukraine, including helping to house possible displaced persons when Russia invades.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Be wary of these new accounts.

[–]Traveledfarwestward[🍰] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Is there an English language version of the Save Life website?

[–]weepingwillows123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you!!! I was actually looking for a list just like this

[–]pasienis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We supporting Ukraine from Lithuania thrue BlueYellow charity. We are with Ukraine people!! Slava Ukraini!!

[–]Juffin 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Is it okay to donate from Russia? Will the transaction be alright and will it cause any issues for the charity?

[–]Alokir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think for your own safety maybe you should consider donating crypto if any charity accepts it. That's what I'll look into, too

[–]julyan_di 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its better for you people to get in the street. If you want Putin regime down now is the time. Act like we are in 2022 and not '40!

[–]dr_rekter 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Any of those accepting cryptos? I have some lying around.

[–]eraser3000[🍰] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I read somewhere https://www.mil.gov.ua/dopomoga-na-materialno-tehnichne-ta-medichne-zabezpechennya-zbrojnih-sil-ukraini.html

Is a website where you can donate for Ukraine defense, I'm not Ukrainian, is it right?

[–]Particular_Rich_57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is an official National Bank of Ukraine website with their account number https://bank.gov.ua/en/news/all/natsionalniy-bank-vidkriv-spetsrahunok-dlya-zboru-koshtiv-na-potrebi-armiyi

[–]IDontHaveCookiesSry 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I wonder if Ukraine utilizes foreign volunteers?

Does anybody know?

[–]lxirlw 4 points5 points  (1 child)

What if we wanted to skip the charities/nonprofits and donate to UA directly? Ukraine.ua has info for transferring to their bank account, is this genuine?

[–]David4747 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I posted in other subs, I want to help personally. I speak russian, english, italian, serbo-croatian and slovenian. I am located in slovenia and can be at the ukrainian border by monday. I got a 4x4 vehicle and got access to 9 passenger vehicles. I can help translate and transport people from safe zones to the border, or from the border to neighbouring countries. I want to help, I got no combat experience.

[–]LaLuzDelQC 3 points4 points  (2 children)

FOR US DONORS:

It's actually not that hard to transfer money to the from the US. You can transfer it domestically to the Bank of Ukraine account with JP Morgan-Chase in New York. Just send a domestic wire transfer to:

National Bank of Ukraine

Bank Address (Don't think this really matters): 383 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10017, USA

ROUTING NUMBER (ABA): 021000021 (Chase Bank)

ACCOUNT: 400807238

Source

With Bank of America the transfer fee is as low as $3, or $30 to rush it same-day.

[–]KhuMiwsher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel so completely impotent in this situation, but I'm glad there are at least these ways to help. Thank you OP for putting this together

[–]denismanus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can I give you guys links to volunteers? Ready to provide any information (Photos, videos, documents, audio). There are a lot of people on the ground now doing volunteer work without government support. For example, now the government can not organize removal of cultural values from Kharkiv - volunteers do it https://www.facebook.com/veronika.sklyarova. Yesterday I called for a long time the state museums and ministry of culture, but could not get an official response. I was born and grew up in Kharkiv - so I can provide any evidence. If it's impossible to give links to volunteers - just delete the comment.

Слава Україні!

[–]surferninjadude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Couple of local guys in Minnesota have raised nearly $50k to send medical kits and communication equipment to Ukraine. One of them is a former marine and is overseas now hand delivering these items to his contacts there. Here's the link if you'd like to help out.

[–]Lithuaniabalysr 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Please add Special Account to Raise Funds for Ukraine’s Armed Forces to the list. It is probably one of the most urgent ones. https://bank.gov.ua/en/news/all/natsionalniy-bank-vidkriv-spetsrahunok-dlya-zboru-koshtiv-na-potrebi-armiyi

[–]lateavatar 2 points3 points  (4 children)
