I thought modern controls were a type of gimmick speaking as an old head gamer who knows nothing other than classic play style, but after spending some time on it, it's not as 'easy' as you think. You can take the same amount of losses fall for the same type of traps if you don't pay attention. I totally see the viability of it even if it's not something I'm going to do.
