I can kinda get behind this concept if they’re going toward customizability but I don’t really get the repairability aspect.

To your point, I’ve been using the same Sennheiser HD595 headphones since 2009. They even have the little plastic stress fractures at the ear cup where it slides against the headband that model is notorious for but it still works the same.

Most popular headphones have replaceable ear pads and tons of models have always had 3.5mm jacks so you can always replace the cable. I just don’t really get the point of this product.

Companies like Walmart were the ones who started this dynamic. Shrinkflation is a huge way large retailers margin out the lower class.

Why sell a 12 pack of cookies for $3 when you can sell a 10 pack of cookies for $3 and pay a graphic designer an hours worth of work to update the packaging?

This is the theme for more and more of the world. Why make low profit margin high volume items when thanks to wealth inequality there will always be buyers with deeper pockets to cater to. Who needs a small truck? Throw another luxury tier on a Silverado and watch people clamor to bid on it.

And what makes BB so good is they accomplish that through very believable character development. Hank is a bit of an annoying asshole at the start of the show when he doesn’t really have much purpose. He’s kinda just working his job he enjoys and is going through the usual career building motions.

He gets more serious and applies more of his expertise when the situation starts getting more serious. That classroom scene is where you start respecting him as an agent but I personally didn’t start liking him until he starts having panic attacks I think after the Tortuga situation.

Then I was rooting for him every time he drew his gun.

I haven’t had gout or thankfully any other really crazy health things mentioned in this thread happen to me yet but I have the habit of picking at my dry cuticles and recently ended up with what is apparently called paronychia (infection in the nail bed and cuticle area) and I couldn’t believe how painful that was. It’s insane how one small part of your body, be it my fingertip or one of your joints can just fuck the rest of you up.
