The rules listed in this sidebar are a brief summary meant to give you a general idea of our subreddit rules. The full writeup of our rules is on our wiki.
No personal attacks, insults, slurs, or any other content or behavior meant to hurt or be mean-spirited.
Low-effort posts (such as text memes) are automatically considered off-topic and are not allowed.
This is a subreddit about Magic: The Gathering, so posts here should be related to Magic.
After a community vote, content that is primarily generated by AI is not allowed. This includes AI generated decks, AI tools, AI generate cards, and articles about AI generated products. AI Generated Fan Art is also not allowed, UNLESS it has been substantially edited by a human.
Gratuitous sexual or violent content is not allowed here.
Encouraging, endorsing, or telling people where or how to get counterfeit cards is not allowed and will earn an instant permanent ban.
We publish a weekly buy/sell/trade thread. Please use it for all buy/sell/trade posts. Please use the weekly Tutor Tuesday threads for general "should I buy this" type questions.
Constructive and relevant posts about Magic community figures are generally allowed, but please keep the subreddit on-topic. Posts which exist solely to accuse someone of cheating are not allowed and will be removed.
Posts that are just pictures/video of cards you got/saw/etc. are not allowed here. If you have a rules question about a card, do it as a text post instead.
Pictures of a random board state with no further reason for the post will be removed. If you have a question relating to a board state, it should be done in text form, unless ABSOLUTELY necessary to have an image.
Posting just to argue about politics, political figures, political policies, or culture-war topics is forbidden.
"Flair" helps to categorize your post for easier browsing and searching. If your post is flaired incorrectly, a moderator will usually do it manually, but it is annoying, so please do it yourself.
See our comprehensive rules page, linked in the sidebar, for these guidelines. You're expected to read them before you begin posting.
We recently moved to a community "Arts and crafts" banner on Fridays - all fan art, custom build products, alters etc, are to be displayed then! Fan Art Friday runs from approximately 12 AM PST to 11:59 PM PST (UTC-8).
We have a card-information bot in this subreddit which can fetch images, up-to-date text, rulings, and more. To use it, mention a card name in your post or comment and put it in double brackets, like this:
[[Shivan Dragon]]
