A gaming sub free from the news, hype and drama that surround current releases, catering instead to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.
These are the games where you’d love to have that “holy shit” moment again, or where you get to explore “that thing” again, or just stories that you’d want to experience again for the first time. Here are some of mine…
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty- don’t really want to spoil it for those who didn’t play but to say the least, it’s a game that’s full of twists and turns and some of its biggest reveals just absolutely blew me away. Especially literally everything that happens after
Outer Wilds- one of those games that you literally have to go into completely blind or you shouldn’t play at all. You’re able to complete the game from the very very beginning but the whole point is to explore and gain knowledge to find out what to do, and this game has some of the most jaw dropping moments I’ve ever seen, that I of course won’t spoil and you’ll have to see for yourself.
Breath of the Wild- okay I can agree that its sequel is better in almost every way, but what the first game offered was much more than anything, which was exploring that open world for the first time. Right from the opening and seeing the whole world open in front of you and knowing you can go everywhere you see is insane. You see that volcano, you can go there. You see that massive mountain in the distance, you can go there. What also makes it amazing is how you can finish the game from the very beginning so it really just encourages your exploration more. I’d love to explore it for the first time again.
Bloodborne- last game I wanna touch on. So others would probably have other FromSoft games over, but Bloodborne was my first and man was it an experience I’d want back. Beating Father G for the first time was the most excited and hyped I ever got in a game. No other feeling like it before in my life overcoming a feat like that, and would love to have that feeling again.
Some other games that I won’t go into depth about,
Inscryption
Shadow of the Colossus
Undertale
Resident Evil 2/7
Symphony of the Night
Excited to see what games you guys choose
