Trae has come out again and expressed his disappointment/frustration with not being on Team USA FIBA roster. What a surprise they couldn't run competent half-court offense and took TWO fat L's from the Select Team lmao.
Enjoy this Twitter clip thread of the super impressive Team USA performance: Takeaways/Clips from Team USA L vs. Select Team via @@nikotaughtyou. My personal favorite quotes "Hali has been invisible" & "Half court offense did not look great"
Remember When??? Trae Young maybe/not playing on the 2024 USA Olympic Roster?by u/Traditional-Site-760 in AtlantaHawks
I wonder what the Trae Young haters from this comment section ^ will come up with now ??
Although I like a lot of the players on the FIBA Roster, its ridiculous they snubbed Trae despite his multiple on the record statements about wanting to play. The Villanova gimmick is corny (Josh Hart??).. Jalen Brunson has been a fulltime starter/#1 option for ONE season, and Tyrese Haliburton also only has ONE season as a fulltime starter at PG/#1 option. Can someone explain why Austin Reaves is an actual Guard on this team?? And again.. Josh Hart?? I get that Trae is best with the ball in his hands, but FIBA hoops requires elite PG play, and Trae is simply better than any Guard on the roster (despite what the twitter hoops "experts" claim).
Not to mention, Team USA is clearly lacking an alpha (Trae). Brunson can act like that guy all he wants, but he's not good enough to be a Gold Medal #1 option. Anthony Edwards, who could fill the alpha role (and has the talent to).. well, Steve Kerr is bringing him off the bench in favor of Mikal Bridges.. Typical Team-USA Politics at it's finest. That's nice Bridges is 26, but he has less than 30 games of experience being a #1 option.
Am I being too petty in hoping this Team USA gets exposed in the FIBA WC? Bronze Medal (or less) would be hilarious. Ant & Brandon Ingram better step up or I won't be shocked when they lose to France & Canada.
