Google's upcoming Manifest V3 update for extensions has the potential to break many ad blockers.
But Manifest V3 will not prevent Brave from blocking ads. We built ad blocking into the browser itself so it will not be affected by Google changing its rules for extensions.
The new privacy-preserving #BraveSearch beta is available for all Brave users (desktop/Android/iOS), as well as from other browsers at search.brave.com. Built on top of an independent index, it doesn’t track users, their searches, or their clicks.

Brave's protections won't be affected by Google's proposed Manifest V3 changes, because Brave Shields (blocking) and built-in enhancements use native code and don't rely on Chromium's extensions API. Brave uses a forked Chromium, which lets us make changes as needed.
