This is a subreddit where people can ask for advice about visiting Thailand, border crossings, hotels, what to see, what to do.
I know white men flock here for whatever reason, I heard the dating scene for white women instead sucks. Now I am in Bangkok but I haven’t explored other places yet and I am here for a course with tourist visa.
I am talking both in major cities like Bangkok or Chiang Mai or also smaller places, I heard Thai men aren’t that interested in white women and western men don’t waste time pursuing white women while here…
I noticed I get hit on or stared by random dudes with strange intention (like one guy from Sri Lanka approached me asking about my necklace then started hinting at more…private stuff) or a Chinese man once who gave me his number and offered bike rides around the city.
I am 100% white and italian and despite being thin I don’t know how I would fit the beauty standard lol I see many Asian men walking around with beautiful ladies (both Thai and from other Asian countries).
I guess the competition is high?
My Thai is poor but I would want to improve it if I decide to work here for some reason, is integrating yourself romantically and making friends that difficult for a western female?
Aww, cripes. I didn't know I'd have to write a description. How many words is that so far, like a hundred? Soooo, yeah. Mildly interesting stuff. Stuff that interests you. Mildly. It's in the name, ffs.
I was riding on a double decker bus this morning, and a lady sat behind me; I wanna say around mid twenties.
It was a long bus ride through the expressway, bus 960E for those who know. I’m just listening to music and dreading the long day I’m about to have, and this lady starts to get comfortable by pushing her knees against the back of the seat I’m sitting in. At first I just kept quiet about it, because it could’ve been a mistake or just some adjustment in seating. But it starts to get more frequent and harder against my back.
I’m just trying to get some peaceful time with the music and the greenery we’re passing by, but no, I had to deal with this.
So I turn around and tell her that she’s pushing against the seat and that I would appreciate her not doing so. What would a normal person’s response be? Maybe apologise? Not do it again?
Well this lady, not normal, IMO. She proceeds to shout at me that I’m disturbing her sleep, and that I don’t own the bus. Well yeah, I don’t, neither does she..? I just sighed and switched seats, not worth the effort tbh. I’m gonna be having a really long day and I just don’t want to waste anymore energy on such a small matter.
But it got me thinking if this is what others have gone through? I mean this is not the first time I’ve encountered a backseat pusher, but this lady’s reaction shocked me. Is this normal?
A subreddit for those who want to end work, are curious about ending work, want to get the most out of a work-free life, want more information on anti-work ideas and want personal help with their own jobs/work-related struggles.
I went in for an interview at this new, fancy hotel that opened up in my city. Interview started at 10 ended around 11:15. The whole time the hiring manager was talking about how great the company is, her vacation she just took with her family, her son graduating high school, and about her has a teenager in high school. Not once did she ask me about anything on my resume, or anything about me. When she would talk about the company and what it has to offer, she would immediately talk over me if I had something to say like “That’s wonderful to hear about the company!”. At the end of the “interview”, she didn’t even offer me a position, she just told me that she was going to email me new hire paperwork to fill out and that my start date was the following Monday. I laughed about it with my mom afterwards because it was such a weird experience. It’s been a while since I have had interviews, is this normal now? Lol.

Di kasi sya marunong sa pera, ngayon lumobo na utang nya for God knows how much (I stopped asking na kasi sumasakit lang ulo ko thinking about it) and personally she and her family owes me 100k.
Her family isnt that wealthy, both farmers ang parents nya.
For additional context, this isnt her first time na mabaon sa utang as well, during pandemic may credit card sya na di mabayaran kasi tumigil ang operations ng company nya kaya parang na on hold sya. During those times iniiwasan nya lang calls nung bank at hinintay nalang uli mag jump back ang company nya. Eventually, bumalik work nya at nagka restructuring deal with the bank and paid it off. Okay good.
But after that idk, di talaga sya nagbago ng spending habits nya, madalas pa din sya gumastos for food and online shopping, she has this mindset na "deserve ko to because I worked hard for it". I think this mindset stems from the fact that her family constantly asks money from her so napilit syang maging breadwinner.
And then ayon, it happened na last month. She got laid off with her 40k wfh job na bumubuhay sa household nila. And now she's lost and doesnt know what to do, she has a new job now but it only pays 30k net for her.
Now im thinking of leaving her kasi nga she would never listen to my advice regarding pera, nakakapagod lang na problemado lagi sa pera. Feel ko im being forced in a relationship with her family as well.
