  • r/mylittlepony - In the episode “Apple Buck Season” one of the cows talked. So does this mean ALL of the animals in the show could talk?? I remember seeing this and wondered why the pets of the Mane 6 didn’t talk lol

Summary because this might get long: I think Animals would be a good asset to bloxburg, it would be more or less like the sims 4 rather than adopt me, no trading should be allowed because who tf is trading animals in a building game, and the animals need to stay realistic.

Okay so I want animals, not just pets, but ANIMALS and here's all what I want and why.

Pets. So I want pets as in dogs, cats, birds, etc. and not ONLY do I want them but I want this to be a level thing. Basically you can start off with a fish or hamster or something and then you have to take care of them and train them or something to level up and are able to unlock bigger pets/animals. Here's where this gets fun though, I want people in your family (have to be roomate in family or else it wont work) to be able to train your pets for you but would take a longer time rather than if you did it yourself. The reason being that then people would be able to have pet training centers where you pay them to train your pet. They can also take care of your pet (if in your family and are guests) which I think would be amazing.

Pests. I think that if pets are a thing, pests should be a thing too. I think that it should be rare to have pests if you don't have pets, however, certain pests come during certain times of either the year or just if you have specific items that the pests want. For example, if it's fall and you have a ton of crops, crows will come and mess with them, leaving you with dirt piles and taking your crops. To get rid of them you'll need a scare-crow. In the winter mice should try to come into your home (only if you have pets) and eat your pets food and mess with your futniture making it harder to take care of your pets and costing more money to fix your futniture (this goes into the crafting skill as the more you get that up the less money it'll cost for you to fix household items). To get rid of them you'll either need to have a cat who's trained high enough to hunt mice OR mice traps, they also make holes in your wall so you'd need to find those and fill them in. During spring you'll have bugs or rabbits that also mess with your crops and the only way to get rid of those are bug repelant/bunny traps that you can buy to capture them and either set them free or tame them (have to be a high level trainer which I'm assuming would be a skill) and during the summer you'd have crabs that pinch your character (only if you have the sand texture on your plot) and mosquitoes that just make your character have an "uncomfortable" moodlet which you can get rid of by traps and bug repelant. You could also get rid of bugs if you have reptile pets. MOST pests besides the mice would only spawn outside (as in areas where there are no boxed in walls and/or a roof) which means if you DO want pets and you DO want crops an easier way you can save them is a greenhouse. My reasoning for wanting pests would be because this game has almost nothing that actually makes it difficult BESIDES making money, I feel like with pets comes not only more jobs but there should also be more difficulties that make the game more fun and interactive.

Big animals. So of course we want dogs and cats, but what about for farms? Well, if you get to a certain training level/skill you'll be able to buy farm animals which will cost a lot BUT will benefit you as well. Farm animals such as chickens, cows, sheep, etc. will all be able to make you money. Cows you can sell milk, chickens you can sell eggs, sheep you can sell their wool, etc. this would make for a new independent way to make money. Now, these pets mean different kinds of pests, so instead of having just crows for fall, you'll also have foxes that go after your chickens. In the summer you'll have cayotes that again go after your chickens AND sometimes attack your cows and bigger animals, in spring you may have snakes that'll hurt your animals, AND ofc there will probably be more pests that I can't think of atm.

Animals limitations. So now that we have animals, can they just leave our plot? WELL, no. For smaller pets like dogs, cats, birds, etc. you, yourself, would have to walk/carry them to another plot/area in order for them to go anywhere. They CAN move freely around your plot but they will not be leaving off your plot without you. Big animals such as cows and sheep and even horses can NOT leave your plot in any circumstances. You CAN have people come to YOUR plot but you can not go to THEIR plot with big animals. For places like vets and areas like those ofc your small pets can go, however, unless you have a truck (that will be added to the game that is specifically MEANT for your big animals to go to and from the vet/animal show) or a phone (to call a npc vet to come to your plot but may cost extra rather than going there yourself) you cannot leave with it. Another thing is that small animals can not leave a room if the door isn't open, doesn't have a animal door or isn't a door frame. For big animals they can't get out of any fenced in area (besides the REALLY short fences) unless there's a big gate that's open, they cannot go through any form of door besides the garage doors.

New areas/Jobs. So I've already mentioned a vet, that would be after a hospital was added and ofc I mentioned pet shows too. So what other jobs would there be and how would they work? Well ofc vets are going to be people who check an NPC's dog or cat and figure out what's wrong with it (to give a visual example imagine the burger place with the options to click the right burger and fries but with pets and imagine it's showing the symptoms to see what matches the pet ig) then you can train your pets and go to pet shows where they can win by their moods, the tricks they can do, and how good of a trainer YOU are. Pet shows can range from small pets to big pets and it'll come up as a side bar to let you know what pets are allowed and aren't allowed at said show. For pet shows you can get a prize (like a cash prize) of idk 30k or something for first place, 20k for second and 10k for third. For paritipants they get pet treats, a trophy that sells for 1k, and some training points (training points/skill will go to everyone even the people who won). Now a new area that I have NOT mentioned yet is the camping area, yeah that would be revamped. So the area would be an area where you can be a wildlife specialist where you need to take pictures of the animals near the forest. Now at the start you'll only be taking pictures of squirrels and frogs and stuff but the higher level you are the more you'll encounter and take pictures of more dangerous animals. The more dangerous the animal like idk a bear or a bobcat or smth the more money you make. If the animal sees you then you'll have to run back to camp, this goes into the athletic skill. The higher the skill the easier it'll be to run away from the dangerous animal. If it catches you then it'll respawn you back at your house with your check. I think that this job will probably NEVER happen but it's something that I want and want to talk about.

Training. Training is important as pets (specifically NOT the farm ones) can destroy furniture (will only be an issue if they're young or have never been trained) and need to be leveled up only once for this issue to stop. Without any training the pets will become more aggressive/hostile towards other animals, will be loud, and will be destructive with your futniture, gardens, and even walls (will have bite marks). After the first level you do NOT need to train your pets anymore if you do not want to, however, it would benefit you if you did (as they could learn to hunt, be better show pets, or could learn how to be independent (not entirely independent but more or less easier to take care of)

Seasonal pets. So before you lose your crap and start yelling "SEASONAL PETS WILL RUIN THE GAME" just hear me out. Seasonal pets will be more or less like seasonal items, they wont be magical or mystcal they'll just be like a pet in a different coat color. Like idk summer, there might be a new fish that comes out. Halloween could have a black cat with green eyes or something. Spring can have more rabbit colors and chicken colors or something (cause easter and then the eggs) and then winter can have like sled dogs or maybe idk if we HAVE horses then draft horses or something. It wont be like adopt me where seasonal pets are magical crows or flying dragons. It'll just be pets in different coat colors that you can buy.

Items and space. Pets will require items and space, the bigger the animal the bigger the space, certain animals will need pet beds, others may need hay, and some might need cages. Some pets may need pet doors to leave the house as well. There would be a pet category for them and you can buy them if needed.

Life cycle, personalities, and pet injuries. SO pets can die, pets can reproduce, you can get a pet spayed at the vet, and pets can get hurt. Pets can get hurt whether it's from a sickness (May happen if it's cold/hot and you left them outside, you didn't feed them, or if you left the food out during winter and mice messed with the food) or if it's from an injury (animals attacking them, them attacking animals, drowning, struck by lightning which would be SUPER rare and also probably wouldn't be added to the game lmfao) but regardless if any of those things happen you need to take them to the vet or they may die. They can also die of old age which is unavoidable. Animals will also have "personalities" which just means if you for example have a dog that's like idk known for hunting, it'll be more aggressive and might harm other small animals you have. If you have a cat that's known for being calm it might start a "bond" with other animals in your farm. You can also get aggressive dogs that can only form bonds with dogs they grew up with since they were puppies and you, nobody else can train them (can still take care of them though) and they can't go to pet shows. Instead, they like to stay outside and wait for players to step on your plot. If a player that isn't a guest or part of your family steps onto your plot then the dog will charge at them and send them back to their plot. Now I think this would be extremely fun as the dogs can't just AUTOMATICALLY kick you, they have to CHASE you. So if you get away the dogs will try to sniff you out and find where you are.

Zoo pets. For animals like zoos and stuff I dont think they should or would be added, I think that for animals like those they should just have a bloxburg zoo. HOWEVER I think that for FISH (like fish you can get from the summer or something) can be put into large tanks and you can have a cute aquarium or something.

Other than that idk what else they could or should add because I dont really want them to add like buy-able deer or bear or wildlife thats yk not PETS but I do want them to add them to the game somehow. Lmk what your thoughts are on this and ik this is long but I just wanted to share my opinions on pets. :)

Edit: made an extra "slot" and fixed spelling
