As a new NBA fan , I have a question

I only got into NBA for a couple of months now so excuse my ignorance.

But how did the Nets manage to get Kyrie , KD and Harden? Like in terms of salary and cap room , I still don't fully understand the whole cap room thing so how did the Nets have the money and cap space to pay 3 massive superstars?

And why did that team fall apart? I'm assuming a big part of it was injuries but other than that what were the main reasons that they requested a trade?

Again I'm sorry i dont know much but would be nice if someone could explain.
