Duo and Meet have combined into a new Meet app. Meet (original) users can download the new app.

Lock audio during a Google Meet meeting

Important: To use Audio Lock, you must first turn on Host Management.

As a meeting host or co-host, you can lock all participants’ audio so they're muted. Once you turn off Audio Lock, everyone can unmute their devices. Audio Lock doesn't apply to you or other meeting co-hosts. You can only set Audio Lock from your computer or iOS device, but lock settings apply to all devices.

Lock participants' audio

Important: When you turn on Audio Lock, mobile participants may be removed from the meeting if their device doesn’t have:

  • The most updated version of the Meet or Gmail app
  • Android OS version M or newer
  • iOS version 12 or newer

Once you turn Audio Lock off, removed participants can rejoin.
