Some frames from classic cinema are engraved forever... A kiss in Gone from The Wind, a screaming Janet Leigh in the Psycho shower scene, Tony Montana in Scarface with a machine gun. What stills from the last 20-30 years do you think we can add to that collection?

Discussion

For me, and I'm not calling it the highest of art, but Kate Winslet on the couch in Titanic... Instantly recognisable, from a cultural phenomenon when it came out.

But I'm curious... Will anything from the Avengers stick? Would a moment from The Prestige be well-known enough? Or one from Children of Men? They're probably too niche picks.

Although my example is from 1997, I'd be curious to think from the year 2000 onwards (sorry, Matrix!).

And I'm not thinking of movies, or scenes.... But particular frames / stills, that have that timelessness and recognizability about them, which in 2040 people will point to as "everyone knows that moment, even if they've not watched the film".

I started the thread with Titanic because I referenced it earlier today, and thought to myself: "that's an extremely recognizable film moment". But I'm struggling to think of others of that level that came after it.
