One new post every three days. Once you've published a thread, you must wait at least 72 hours before posting again. Do not delete your threads or comments. Deleting is against the rules. Using an alt account on this sub is also forbidden. Attempts to circumvent the three-day rule may lead to a ban.

To close your thread, set it to "NSFW" or choose the "Close Thread" option.

You must follow the title format:

[Country] [H] What You Have [W] What You Want

For [Country], put the country where you and your item(s) are located within the brackets. Include your state/province if you wish to trade locally. Next, after the [H], list What You Have. Finally, list What You Want after the [W].

We do not allow "clickbait" or ALL CAPS titles, nor do we allow PSAs or user callouts. If your title breaks these rules, your post may be removed.

Sellers must price all items. Prices must be set up front, even if gauging interest. Asking for offers without listing prices is prohibited. Sellers may accept offers, but they should never explicitly tell a buyer to make one.

For example, "$25 or best offer" is fine, but if a buyer inquires about an item, the seller shouldn't ask them what they're looking to spend. All offers must come of the buyer's own volition.

Arbitrary prices set to fish for bids are a violation of the pricing rule.

Items for sale must be readily available. If you don't have it or aren't sure you have it, don't list it until you do. Digital betas, alphas, and demos that do not include the full game are not allowed. However, physical demos, such as demo discs and store demo cartridges, are perfectly fine. We do not allow users to sell services or items that are purchased or made to order.

A text list of what you’re selling is required in every thread. A Google Doc or Imgur gallery is not sufficient. If you’re selling a bundle or lot, you must include a text list of all the items it includes.

All negotiations must occur in the public trade thread. Do not move to PMs or Chat until you and your trade partner have agreed on the conditions of your sale and are ready to exchange payment and mailing information.

If someone messages you directly without first commenting on your post, ignore them or direct them to your thread. Negotiating in PMs or Chat is a good way to get scammed.

Accounts cannot be bought, sold, rented out, or shared here. Accounts are easily recoverable by calling customer service, which is a common scam on markets where accounts are allowed to be sold.

Selling an account is also a violation of the terms of service on most, if not all, platforms. This means that any console listed here must be fully deactivated from any linked accounts prior to sale.

This is not a space for advertising outside sales. Linking to your listings on sites like eBay or Mercari is forbidden.

Linking to external profiles like Steam or CAG is not allowed. There is no way to ensure that your Reddit account and these profiles are related.

Linking to rep or threads from other Reddit marketplace subs (e.g., /r/GiftCardExchange) is allowed. External links used for negotiation purposes, such as links to a product on eBay, Amazon, or Price Charting, are also allowed.

GameSale is for console (digital and physical) and physical PC gaming ONLY. Gaming-specific PC peripherals, such as controllers, joysticks and VR sets, are fine. Graphics cards, keyboards, webcams, and monitors are not allowed. Steam keys and other digital PC downloads are forbidden.

If you would like to sell digital PC or Steam items, use /r/steamgameswap, /r/gametrade, or /r/indiegameswap.

If you would like to sell PC hardware, use /r/hardwareswap.

We do not allow the sale of pirated games or unauthorized reproductions. This includes ROMs, ROM hacks, bootlegs, and counterfeit games.

While we allow the sale of hacked systems, you're not allowed to include any pirated games. If we suspect you're selling a hacked console with such content, we may require you to prove it has been completely deleted before we allow you to sell the item on this sub.

Sellers can not ask buyers to cover PayPal fees. If you want to account for fees in your prices, that is fine, but you cannot charge more for PayPal G&S than you're charging for other accepted digital payment methods (e.g. PayPal Friends & Family, Venmo, CashApp, Zelle). Waiting until you're in PMs or Chat to ask buyers to cover these fees may result in a ban.

Any comment that devalues a seller's items or inhibits a buyer or seller from having a successful transaction is prohibited. Comments that are not directly related to buying or selling on a thread may be considered threadcrapping. You should never inject yourself in the middle of ongoing negotiations for any reason.

Likewise, if you're using this sub, you're expected to be civil and respectful to other users at all times. Don't be a dick (DBAD), as it will get you banned.

The OP should have priority in their own swap threads. If someone makes OP an offer, OP should be allowed to reject it before someone else jumps in.

Never attempt to negotiate with a user until the OP has responded saying they're not interested or the offer has been ignored by OP for at least 24 hours. This includes comments like, "If he declines, I'll buy it!" or "If he passes, I’ll take it!"

All offers to OP should be a top-level comment.

This sub is for buying and selling only. If you want to trade, use /r/gameswap. This rule does not apply to offers made in the comments.

Scammers will be permanently banned and added to the Universal Scammer List.

We take these reports very seriously. If you report a scammer, we need you to message the mod mail with evidence of the scam. Please include a link to the original trade thread, images of your private messages with the other user, and proof that payment or the item was sent.
