This thing was built up as unstoppable. Constantly evolving. He took on the greatest Nen warrior and spit him back out. He even seemingly tanked a nuke. So far, he seems like a typical DBZ villain.

That nuke he tanked? Yeah, turns out he might have survived the explosion... but he couldn't survive the radiation/poison effects of the nuke. He then dies to humanities greatest weapon

The only other series that do something similar: Parastye (anime) War of the Worlds (movie)

However, with War of the worlds, there was never a particular alien that was hyped up as a Frieza 2.0. With Parasyte, the final villain wasn't technically anything substantially new. It was just a combination of the parasites

With War of the Worlds, humanity actually lost. It was the ecosystem of Earth that independently did the fighting. With Parasyte, humanity did play a role thanks to a random toxin that they produced... but again this was a mistake and not a calculated weapon that actually did its job in a shounen type setting..

More series need to save the lyrics of a song for when things get cool/serious

Best way I can explain this is in Metal Gear Rising: Revengence, during all but one of the major boss fights, the lyrical version of the song is saved explicitly for when the fight is at its most intense.

Mistral phase 3; Mistral jumps down into an exploding facility before yelling at Raiden in anger, then the lyrics kick in and everything gets awesome.

Bladewolf; Bladewolf howls as the lyrics kick in, the howl matching the intensity of the lyric and he jumps down, dashing around at the pace of the song.

Sundowner phase 2; Sundowner connects his scissor blade and rushes at you as the lyrics kick in.

Jetstream Sam; the lyrics fade away as Sam loses his sword and kick back in when he picks it up.

Senator Armstrong; The lyrics fade away when Raiden loses his sword and picks back up when he reclaims it

Needless to say, all these moments feel so much cooler because the lyrics are saved for these instances and don’t play through the whole boss fight, which makes when they happen hit harder. I can’t think of any other series that did this and I wished more did do this.

I feel like some Kirby fans have a problem with advertising the series as something that it’s not

I’ve heard a lot about how Kirby lore is dark and how Kirby is a unbeatable multiversal god but i don’t think that’s what the series at all Section 1: “KIRBY LORE IS DARK LIKE PEOPLE DON’T UNDERSTAND!”

A lot of things you’ve most likely already heard about this series is that it’s actually super dark but really it’s not true at all. The narrative is that Kirby is way darker than it looks except that isn’t true like Kirby feels and plays as exactly what it advertises itself as, fun and entertaining game with a cute art style and the more deeper stuff is mostly optional, star Allies is literally kirby beating everyone with the power of friendship hell literally a lot of Kirby games preach about the power of friendship, you can literally beat final bosses with something called the love love stick that you can get when Kirby’s friends show enough gratitude and love to him and something called the star Allie’s sprinkler which you can get when Kirby’s friend love him or something. Kirby’s average tone is literally not much darker than your average my little pony episode that shit is not dark lmao. The reason why some people call it dark it’s because they over exaggerate how dark it is off of very few dark moments in the series lol. The only genuinely dark moments I can remember are

Sectonia’s backstory

Haltman’s backstory

Mage sister’s backstory

And that’s it and even if there are more it’s nowhere near enough to call the whole lore dark like 80 percent of it is complex and vague with some fan canon thrown in it to a noticeable extent while 20 percent of it is strange stuff with some dark moments if anything Kirby lore is complex and vague but not dark

Another thing about Kirby you here a lot is that he’s a really op unbeatable god killer which isn’t because not only is he not that strong but I think that’s fundamentally not understandable how games actually intend for his power to be imo. Like his power depends on what he absorbs or what he’s given that his literally the point of his power. There so many games where he wins because of a McGuffin he’s given or because of the power of friendship which a lot of Kirby fans don’t focus on like dark matter and zero he needed the power of friendship and the love love stick to win, nightmare: he needed the star rod to win, dark nebula: needed the triple star rod to win,dark mind:needed a special sword to win, zero 2: needed ribben and the shard ray to win, megalor: needed help to win, queen sectonia: needed to be bailed out by dedede and needed to be given hypernova to win, void termina: needed to given a new power up via that power of friendship which the star Allies sprinkler to win, fecto elifilis: needed elfilin to help beat a arguably dying fecto elifilis. If Kirby was a powerful as fans state he is then he wouldn’t need help or McGuffins.

I think the novels portrayal of Kirby is what his power is more or so supposed be or at-least what the game devs hint at imo. In the novels kirby is portrayed as not very powerful if he doesn’t have a power up or help for example in the one where morpho knight come at them, he needs king dedede to help just to barely beat galacta knight then after morpho knight is introduced he manhandles kirby and dedede and knocks Kirby out of his sword power which Kirby acts like he’s powerless because of it because he thinks his power without a power up isn’t strong enough to stop morpho knight which then meta knight reunites with Kirby and dedede so meta knight then gets rid of morpho knight. If the type of kirby fans made this then they would’ve portrayed Kirby getting rid of morpho knight without much effort lol.

When you read that paragraph, what's the first thing that jumps into your mind? When I read it, I hear a strong, confident, and powerful villain that's just not the villain of this story. I hear someone that's self-aware of his evilness and is proud of it. I hear someone that won't quit, in more ways than one.

And then he got retconned.

I've already spoken at length about the dangers of retconning characters that already had established personalities but, unlike whatever the heck is going on in French One Piece this week, this particular retcon makes me weep.

We have an adult comedy show about demons from Hell! Stolas is a demon prince of Hell!!! So why are we wasting so much time trying to make him sympathetic? Scratch that, why are we wasting so much time trying to make him pathetic??? Oh no, Daddy doesn't love me and he forced me to marry an abuser that makes fun of me in front of all her friends! Oh noo, the man I love doesn't love me back but I keep chasing after him because I love him and we are secretly childhood friends and we are fated lovers actually!! Oh nose, my abusive wife is sending assassins after me and the man I love won't visit me in the hospital!!

Bitch, you are a demon from Hell! Why is your entire plotline lifted from Lifetime movies???

It's like, pilot Stolas gave off this queer-coded-villain-but-also-not-coded-because-he's-literally-queer vibe and show Stolas has a protagonist of a queer soap opera vibe that just makes him a slog to watch. He's really trying to pull this cottagecore gay man vibe in literal Hell while pilot Stolas has a "I'm twisted, keep him addicted, eyes on his lips, I lick it" vibe. Show Stolas is a Uke type of bottom while pilot Stolas is a "Boy effin dead if he ever diss me, he know what to do if he ever miss me;)" type of bottom. Show Stolas can't even keep a man chasing after a married couple; meanwhile pilot Stolas makes boys blow up his phone and scream WAB! Show Stolas is at home crying into an empty ice cream carton; meanwhile pilot Stolas is on a trip to the bay. I don't think I can make this point any clearer without breaking this subs rules.

Stolas still could have had some of his other sympathetic traits (good relationship with his daughter) without making him an absolutely pathetic UwU victim. I'm not even saying they should have made Stella sympathetic (she's boring), just don't make sweep Stolas moral greyness under the rug in the name of making him an UwU pure victim (He's a demon from Hell!).
