Bought new Nvidia GPU, have I messed up?

Planning on running Ubuntu as the daily driver, with intent on using it for both gaming and development work. The more I look into it, NVIDIA GPU's are frowned upon heavily. Are the drivers really that bad, or will it be fine other than some initial setup? I still have time to return if need be, would rather just determine sooner rather than later.

Bookworm is the best version of Debian to date. Maybe even the best distro out there. I would just like to say thank you to everyone that helps making such a great thingy :)

I have been gaming on it since release (technical it was 2 hours after release since I decided to make a clean install).

Everything just work. The few papercuts from Bullseye is gone and all the games I have tried (mostly native games) has been running smoothly with no problems detected.
I hope I will have a smooth ride unto Debian Trixie will arrive.

Thank you for your afford to make Debian Bookworm :)

Tech-support requests should be readable by and useful to others. Include relevant details like logs, terminal output, system information. What exactly did you do, and how, and with what version of what? How have you tried to troubleshoot the problem? Vague, low-effort tech-support requests may get removed. This wiki page can help you gather system information.
You can now flair your own posts. Please mark your "standalone" tech-support requests as tech support and re-flair them as answered! if an answer has been found (even if it was "can't be done").
Respect other users. Heated discussions are fine, unwarranted insults are not. Remember you are talking to another human being.
Devs and content producers. If you've ported your game to Linux or created some GNU/Linux gaming related content (reviews, videos, articles) then, so long as you're willing to engage with the community, please post it here. If it's a link post, think about writing a comment to tell us more - the more you engage with us, the more we like it. We all need to support each other to help GNU/Linux gaming grow.
