  • 90% of us support Dame and his desire to leave. It's time for a rebuild. Not his fault. And he deserves to contend.

  • 75% of us are upset he publicly demanded to go to one team, which damages his trade value, so it hurts the franchise. I don't think anyone is just organically anti-Miami. People are only upset because we are inevitably going to get a bad deal. That's logical, right? It's that simple. Getting a bad deal = upset fans. End of story. I don't see any Heat fans saying "we can't trade Herro!". You're winning this trade and you know it. We're losing it and we know it. Why are you surprised we dislike it?

  • Yes, the front office failed to put a serious championship contender around Dame.

  • But you need to remember we are one of the few remaining true small market teams. Free agents don't come here. They don't go to Sacramento. They don't go to Charlotte. You guys exist on the opposite end of the spectrum. Everyone wants to go to Miami. I'm sorry but you have no idea what type of challenge small market teams face.

  • But it isn't that simple: in some ways Dame also prevented true progress himself. This sub cherry picks Blazers history. I never see you guys talk about how Dame was too loyal to CJ and wouldn't let us trade him for years when the whole world knew that pairing wouldn't work. We lost years to it. How Dame was too loyal to Stotts, who is not a championship coach, and prevented us from firing him. We lost years to it. How Dame strong armed us to hire Chauncey Billups, a rookie coach, who is terrible. We are losing years to it as we speak. Dame gets to leave and we get stuck with his terrible hand picked coach. Which is fine for a tank, I guess.

  • Dame has had some good teams. He's lost to multiple championship squads in the playoffs. He's lost to GSW. You all act like he's been on a lottery team for a decade. Did you forget we took down Harden's Rockets, Russ's Thunder, Jokic's Nuggets in various playoffs? Dame has had good teams. He has not had great teams. That's the front office's fault. My only point is it simply isn't accurate to act like he's been suffering for 11 years.
