LPT: Always ask to see the bottle being opened when getting bottle service in a club

I've worked many years in hospitality and specifically as a bartender. I did a trial shift in a nightclub once where before the club opened, they lined up loads of empty Grey Goose bottles on the bar, grabbed a massive bottle of dirt-cheap vodka, filled them all up, and put spirit pourers on them. When customers ordered bottles either at the bar or for table service, they would pay huge sums for what they thought was Grey Goose.

I obviously chose to not work at this place, this practise is very illegal in a lot of places. When I told industry people about this, they said it's quite common.

If you ever order a bottle in a club, make sure you watch them remove the factory-sealed top off the bottle.

LPT Use grocery stores with local delivery for long distance gift giving.

I wanted to get a buddy of mine on the other side of the country a couple steaks for his birthday and was looking at using one of those online delivery services for premium meat. After shipping, minimum order amount, it was going to end up being close to $100 for what really should have been $30-40 worth of meat. I ended up looking up his local grocery store and was able to get him and his wife a couple rib eyes, some potatoes and herbs, a bottle of wine and a small cake for around $50 and delivered from the store just 10 minutes from their house on the same day. I've now been using this tactic for sending friends 6 packs of beer and bottles of wine etc and its ALWAYS a hit. Honestly, if you have trouble finding good gifts for people, everyone always appreciates booze and steak and cake.

LPT Request: At a group dinner, how can you say you'll pay for your own bill if the understanding is splitting the bill equally?

I mean, it's not that uncommon that I'll have to put 5€ - 10€ more than my fair share because of the heavy drinkers, fancy food pickers and sweet tooth enthusiasts who do multiple desserts.

In the hustle and bustle of our fast-paced lives, it is crucial to remind ourselves of the importance of taking a break and avoiding burnout.
Burnout is real and can affect our physical, emotional and mental health.

Maintain a work-life balance and meditate.

Spend time with people who have positive energy and make time for yourself.
Spiritual break
Do things that make you feel good.
Take a vacation close to nature.
Sensory break
Limit your screen time.
Take a break from social media and turn off notifications.
Let's break the stigma surrounding rest and show the world that prioritizing our well-being is a sign of strength and wisdom.
