So I watched their YouTube video explaining they were starting back up with the show because it is “gods plan.” Here is the video. They literally said god over 100 times. I honestly like the show because of the girls and the family. Mostly the girls because I watched from the beginning. Obviously it’s morally messed up their using their children for $ but I digress. That’s not my point here. I agree it’s messed up and would never do that to my children.

Watching this video gave me the creeps. SO much Jesus talk and little talk of the reality of their lives. I get Jesus is their life but I’m really glad they keep this Jesus talk out of the show because I’m more secular/ critical thinker/ don’t rely on church or “god” to make life decisions for me. Basically they’re saying they did a “Jesus fast” and god “sent messengers” to them to tell them to share their story again.

The main point of this post is to say that THE DUGGAR FAMILY said the same exact thing about their show over and over. In their new expose docuseries “shiny happy people” this is their main reason to do the show, because god wanted them to “share their word and story.” When I heard that my jaw dropped. It’s the same thing the Busbys say.

Does anyone know if the Busby church is loosely connected to IBLP? Presumably not because Danielle works and they’re very modernized. Or does anyone know what denomination they are? Them going back on the show seems like some brainwashing tactics from the church to bring the cash cow back in and bring attention to the church and League City. It seems like Danielle & Adam just blindly listen to the church without thinking critically about things. It worries me for the girls.

Also, I’m from the northeast where these mega churches do not exist. I don’t know people like the Busbys. Apologies if all of this sounds ignorant or offensive but something about that YouTube video really freaked me out. Also “Shiny Happy People” is INSANE and filled with abuse, at the instruction of the church. It really was shining light on how profitable and controlling these mega churches can be. I know the busbys aren’t fundamentalists but all the Jesus talk sounded like major BS.
