Exploring innovative applications of ZKP in the Ethereum ecosystem

fellow Ethereum enjoyers, I've been wrapping my head around some of the emerging ZKP (Zero-Knowledge Proof) projects and wanted to spark a discussion about the ones everyone’s tracking.

This technology could potentially boost privacy and security on Ethereum, and I think a lot of eyes are gonna be glued here.

I recently came across an article from Delphi Digital highlighting a project called Namada. What stood out to me was their focus on applying ZKP to cross-chain transactions, a pretty groundbreaking move. Their approach could offer a unique solution for maintaining privacy, security, and transparency across multiple chains.They've got a fresh take I’ll give em that, but the two I found most worth mentioning were.

Zcash - They've built their reputation around using ZKP for "shielded" transactions, effectively allowing verification of data without sharing the data itself. An excellent solution for privacy-focused users.
Loopring - Implementing zkRollups for scalable, secure trading and payments on Ethereum, Loopring is actively addressing some of the critical challenges in the current DeFi landscape, including high gas fees and slow transactions.

These 3 stood out to me, but the reason for this post was that I wanna know what the general trends are. What projects have taken ur fancy, and which ones do you actively follow?

How are blockchains built and deployed?

I’ve been in the crypto space for awhile now and I suddenly have this question bugging me. How exactly are blockchains created? Like with Websites, we use html, css and JavaScript (basics) to build websites and then host them on a platform like vercel or hostinger for the world to have access to it.

Now for blockchains, how is it done? What tools, frameworks or services are used?

I googled around and stumbled on hyperledger but asides Fabric which offers a way to setup private blockchains, I can’t seem to find how the public facing layer-1 like Ethereum, Avalanche and Fantom or the layer-2 like Arbitrum, and Polygon are built.

Does anyone have an idea on how this is done?

How does zero knowledge protocol like ZkSnark adds privacy in Ethereum?

I am learning about zk tech, esp Snark. I have a basic understanding on how it is applied to Zcash and its conceptual overlap with Tornado cash. I have a few key questions or knowledge gaps about how it can be vastly applied in the Ethereum ecosystem.

When people say zk tech can bring privacy to Ethereum, what scale or scope are we taking about? Is it like some specific apps like Dex or Tornado cash like apps where you need to use to archeive that? Or is it something more default? If the latter, like masking transfer or transaction detail (sender, receiver, amount), how is it actually executed?
Zcash uses UTXO whole ethereum is account based, is account based more challenging for privacy when applying ZkSnark?

Buying Ethereum and other Questions

Is it possible to buy Ethereum from somewhere that is decentralised? Please recommend and give any tips for someone new to ETH.
Which Ethereum should I be buying I’m asking because I see there are alot of different types like Ethereum, Wrapped Ethereum and etc? What is the difference to all of these and which one is the one that everyone uses?

Understand ownership of address and multichain activity - Missing PLU Token (ERC20) deposit on Coinbase

Hello,

I encountered an issue that initially prompted me to seek assistance on another subreddit. However, I have been guided to present the problem here, as it seems more appropriate for the specific problem, which revolves around proving address ownership probably by considering address multi-chain activity also.

In brief, my problem involves a transfer of 17 PLU tokens (approximately $180) from MM (originating wallet) to Coinbase Address. Despite using the address displayed on Coinbase's website (as confirmed by a screenshot below), Coinbase customer support claims that the destination address does not belong to them or in fact to any account.

According to Coinbase, the address in question is not associated with them, despite the fact that it was the very address provided on their website. For a significant duration, this address remained visible until it was changed, indicating that Coinbase has the liberty to modify incoming addresses at their discretion.
