The image of the beige colored vest isn't the actual vest. his vest was "pale green". I imagine it was only included as an example, because there are no photos available of the real vest because blood was on it.

9:40:03 - Last gunshot is heard. This is believed to be the final suicide shot from the shooter in classroom 10.

9:41:07 - Information is relayed as to the location of the last known gunshots heard within SHES, the front of the building.

9:41:24 - Newtown officer has unknown male prone on ground, starting information relay regarding possibly more than one shooter.

9:42:39 - Newtown officer calls out the license plate of the shooter’s car.

9:44:47 - Newtown officers enter SHES.

Never came "face-to-face" or "shared their story" per se, and not a teacher/student,
but someone that was in the front office gave a witness statement to police about what she saw.
she said that when she heard the first shots (his entry) she stood up and looked through the office window into the lobby and saw him with the gun "up high near his shoulder" and was pointing it down the hallway, right before he shot the three staff members in the same hallway. she also said that when he entered the office he was breathing and walking "normally"

There was pretty much nothing stopping Hale from getting into a classroom if he really wanted to.
If you watch the police bodycam footage you can clearly see the classrooms have large windows on the doors that could easily be broken to access the door handle/jump through.
