About Learning amharic

Question ❓

Hey guys, I'm from Australia and both my parents are Ethiopian. I just came back from Ethiopia and now I want to make an effort to start learning amharic. I know the basics because I grew up hearing my parents speak amharic but they never taught me and I can have a bare basic conversation

Should I first learn to read the alphabet? Or should I first learn some phrases instead and if so, when should I start learning the alphabet? What is the best way to learn it?

I'm thinking about starting a project to create Amharic historical content for kids in the age range of 10-16. I'm looking for some feedback on the idea and whether there is a demand for this type of content.

As a parent, I've noticed that there is a lack of educational resources in Amharic for kids and I think it would be really beneficial to have more materials available to help kids learn about their history and culture. I'm also really passionate about teaching and would love the opportunity to create something that could make a difference in the lives of young learners.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this idea. Do you think there is a need for Amharic historical content for kids in this age range? If you have any suggestions or ideas for the project, I'd love to hear them!

I can currently understand Amharic but my goal this year is to finally speak it. Was wondering if anyone might be willing to have conversational amharic with me over the phone on a weekly basis on whatsapp or telegram? I'd really appreciate any help, I really would love to learn.
