Honestly been working in the space a while but I’ve grown pessimistic.

I've been pondering over the state of cryptocurrency lately, and I can't help but feel like it's all a sinking ship. I know many of you are passionate about crypto, but let's have an open discussion and challenge some commonly held beliefs. Here are a few points I'd like to address:

  1. Decentralization is a joke - Many projects claim to be decentralized, but they are often hosted on platforms like AWS owned by Bezos. Doesn't this contradict the fundamental idea of decentralization?

  2. Ethereum's proof of stake (PoS) - With Ethereum transitioning to PoS, it seems like the big players with substantial funds will control the network due to their sheer size. Does this not compromise the principles of decentralization?

  3. Most coins are useless - Do we really need all these different coins when they could be easily replaced by a stablecoin? It feels like many projects are just creating unnecessary tokens without adding much value.

  4. NFTs have lost their meaning - While NFTs can be beneficial for genuine artists, the term has been diluted by projects that prioritize monetary gain over artistic integrity. Has the NFT space become more about exploitation than true artistic expression?

  5. Decentralized payment systems vs. traditional apps - The idea of decentralized payment systems is appealing, but in reality, people prefer convenience and ease of use. Tools like Venmo and Cash App are widely adopted because they are user-friendly. Do most people actually care about decentralization?

Now, I don't claim to have all the answers, but I would love to hear your thoughts on these points. Is crypto truly dead, or are there counterarguments that can change my perspective? Let's engage in a respectful and insightful discussion and challenge each other's ideas. Who knows, maybe we'll uncover some surprising insights along the way!

Note: This post is meant to stimulate constructive dialogue, so please refrain from personal attacks or disrespectful comments. Let's keep it civil and open-minded.

Polygon has been somewhat of a controversial topic in the Ethereum forums in the past couple of years but you have to give them credit. They fixed a lot of the issues they used to face and they even addressed many of the concerns people had to express

They created an full Ethereum L2 ZK rollup that is completely open source as a response to those that said Polygon is not an L2
And now, they even upgrading their PoS to a zkEVM Validum

They're honestly doing way more than other EVMs yet they still somehow end up getting criticized...

Hey everyone,

I'm excited to introduce you to EduMint, an innovative web platform that is set to transform the way universities issue digital certificates. EduMint leverages the power of blockchain technology and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to ensure the authenticity, security, and traceability of digital certificates.

With EduMint, universities can streamline their certificate issuance process and provide students with tamper-proof digital certificates. These NFT-based certificates offer numerous benefits, including verifiable ownership, enhanced security, and easy verification by employers and institutions.

EduMint's decentralized approach eliminates the need for intermediaries, making the certificate issuance process efficient, transparent, and resistant to fraud. Students can securely store their certificates and share them with employers or other educational institutions, enhancing their credibility and employability.

We are actively seeking partnerships with forward-thinking universities to collaborate on pilot projects and showcase the transformative potential of EduMint. If your university is interested in exploring a modern and secure approach to certificate issuance, I would love to connect and provide more information.

Let's revolutionize the way we recognize achievements and empower students with secure and verifiable digital certificates. Join us in the EduMint revolution!
