If they were different transactions they would have a different entry in my transactions list, not just be listed under the same header. They have different dates for the dates the total was changed

It says “previous transaction totals” not “previous transactions”. The total keeps updating when they put in the new number. I got a text at the same time that said “your transaction at pho Saigon has been updated from 11.78 to 23.56”

If you use cashapp you will be familiar with this format.

This is slightly overstating it. He only "lost" to Misty because Pikachu didn't want to fight a friend. Making Sabrina and Kadabra laugh did in fact keep them from being able to fight so that's a win. And he 100% defeated the acting gym leaders of Viridian.
