This is going to be a long and drawn out post because of the absolute NONSENSE I dealt with this weekend all because I follow Lyft's "Community Guidelines".

I drive in Raleigh, NC. in a year I would probably get one, maybe two unaccompanied minors through the entire year but in June alone I've had to cancel on upwards of 16 or so riders with either parents saying the classic "I do this all the time" or it's the actual kids ordering rides at schools or places they've gone, it's become rampant especially in SE Raleigh.

On Friday I got two in a row and reached out to Lyft as these parents were angry about it despite me being respectful and showing them the guidelines showing why we can't take underage riders without a parent with them. Two hours later I was put on a temporary hold, one of these riders claimed that I used the "n-word" and tried to get me completely kicked off Lyft. It took until late Sunday night to get ahold of someone at Lyft and when I did I sent them dash cam footage of all rides that day to show I never so much as uttered anything even close to resembling that word.

So why am I posting this on here to vent and to some degree to get on a soap box?

I'm begging to Raleigh drivers, please stop doing this. We already had earlier this late last year: 17 Year Old Jumps Out Of Lyft

Lyft damn near isn't perfect (I'm going to be focused on Uber going forward after all this) but at the very least don't open others up to this kind of nonsense because some of you would rather get a quick buck. Something could happen to that kid and it'll be on YOU. Yes these parents need to be held accountable for being horrible parents but if we allow them to think this is fine then in the end the only people getting the shaft will be drivers like me getting thrown in the crossfire over defamation.
