According to my mom, her friends, and a lot of visitors of the CAS, there was an albino alligator in the old museum. The current one, Claud, arrived in 2008, and the one everyone seems to remember was there in 1980. After talking to many staff members at the CAS yesterday, there seems to be no record of another albino alligator in the old museum. Many remember them, but there seems to be no solid proof besides these memories. Many suggest that it could have been at another museum or zoo, but others are positive it was the CAS. It’s a mystery where these memories come form. The closest many can find is Antonio LeBlanc, but the years for his inhabitants at the San Francisco zoo don’t quite match up with others memories either. Maybe one day, the mystery of the 1970’s-1989’s California albino alligator will be solved, but as if now, it remains a mystery of memory and a Mandela effect.
