2023-2024 Champions League Preliminary Round Predictions

I plan on predicting the entire UCL, UEL and UECL. That includes the qualifiers and the actual tournament including the group and knockout stage. As you can tell, I will be starting with the UCL preliminary round.

Game 1 Semi Final: Atlètic Club d’Escaldes 0-2 Budućnost Podgorica

Budućnost Podgorica is much more established in Europe in my opinion. They have consistently been in Europe the past 5 years while this is Atlètic Club d’Escaldes second time in Europe in a while. Budućnost Podgorica has a stronger squad, they consistently are able to compete in a harder league while Atlètic Club d’Escaldes has an easier league in my opinion and has only been performing well for a couple of years. On top of that, Budućnost Podgorica made it further in last year's Conference League, with them making it to the second qualifying round and Atlètic Club d’Escaldes losing in the first round.

Game 2 Semifinal: Tre Penne 0-4 Breiðablik

This should be pretty easy for Breiðablik. They are a team which performs well in Europe compared to Tre Penne. Breiðablik made it to the Third Qualifying Round twice in the two most recent Conference Leagues while Tre Penne went out twice in the First Qualifying Round which includes an 0-8 loss over two legs to Tuzla City in 2022-2023 and a 0-7 loss to Dinamo Batumi over two legs. Especially considering this is somewhat at home for Breiðablik, it should be a shutout against Tre Penne.

Final: Budućnost Podgorica 1-2 Breiðablik

These two clubs actually have faced off before fairly recently, in the 2022-2023 Conference League Second Qualifying Round. Breiðablik won that tie 3-2 on aggregate over two legs. I personally don’t see this match being much different than what happened in the Conference League. Especially considering this is in Iceland, it will be close but a victory nonetheless for Breiðablik.
