I’m rewatching season 1 having finished the series and wow.. a lot of thoughts.

First of all I noticed how tacky the show has become in later seasons- maybe more people with new money? or money they got through marriage?

LVP and Adrienne come across very classy and down to earth to me. They almost hold up the standard for grandiose wealth that isn’t covered in labels and brands. It’s diamonds, lunches and private jets. It comes across so differently to how Erika expressed the same amounts of wealth. Maybe because they’re showing the business side to this wealth and how they are constantly hustling (actually hustling- not rinna hustling because they don’t actually have to tell you how hard they’re working)

Kyle is rather stern and cold? Even with Mo and her kids I was actually counting the amount of times she laughs. She seems stressed and angry throughout the season and I always remembered her to be carefree. In later seasons it feels like she’s loosened up a little.

Camille is drastically different compared to season 2, also a bit pick me but anyway.

I also didn’t realise the show openly showed Taylor in an abusive relationship where by the 3rd episode she already admits to regretting marrying Russell. I thought that was more shown in season 2 but no that cry for help began very early on.

Lastly, THE OUTFITS. In S1 they’re actually nice and I would argue digestible?? No one ever looks like they’re trying to hard. I feel like Dorit and Érikas commitment to looks in their first respective seasons made them interesting and was a fun and refreshing addition but it caused some sort of wild competition within the girl group (Perhaps, after G labelled Dorit as the most fashionable? and that struck some sort of jealousy) because I don’t like 90% of what the housewives wear now they feel like they’re way too much and they’re competing with neon colours and loud branding. Dorit usually does pull it out of the bag and I like her style but not the other women. It also takes me back to when everyone dogged on Denise for her style being boring but I feel if she was a part of the earlier seasons no one would have cared. IMO LVP was the only one who remained true to what she felt comfortable and glamorous in at the end.
