Okay everyone so I, F20, recently got a roommate as rent is super high and it would be more manageable with two people. I became roommates with someone who I somewhat knew, let's call her Carrie, F20 also. We were aquaintances but not necessarily friends but after she moved in we started hanging out with each other a lot more.
Now when she moved in we agreed that we wouldn't go into each other's rooms or anything for privacy reasons. Now the problem comes with the fact that I have a pet frog, his name is Fredrick if anyone is interested. Now normally he is in his tank in my room, which is how I assume that Carrie didn't know I had him. But the other day I brought his tank into the living room/kitchen area to add more things into his tank and also change and do basic hygiene for it. I left it there while I went out to get some things from the store and in that time Carrie came home.
When I got back Carrie was mad and said that I should have discussed that I was getting a pet with her before I got one. I told her simply that I didn't just get him and that I've had him the whole time. She then told me that when she was in the process of becoming a roommate that I needed to disclose of any pets. I told her that she was overreacting and that he's in my room most of the time. She argued that it didn't matter and that it needed to be disclosed first in case someone had an allergy, I've never heard of someone having a frog allergy but whatever. She then said that I needed to get rid of the frog and that as a signer of the lease she had the right to tell me that it needed to go. I told her that I wasn't getting rid of my frog and that she can go kick rocks. This led to a lengthy and heated argument which ended up with her huffing of someplace and the police showing up because someone reported a noise disturbance. After which I let them in and explained the situation to them and they left without an incident but when Carrie came back she just gave me the cold shoulder and hasn't talked much since.
Edit: Alright everyone just so it can be clear as there's some confusion apparently, my lease didn't say anything about having a frog. I asked my landlord if I was able to have one as he knows that I'm autistic and frogs are one of my special interests and he said that he didn't care if I had a frog. Also here is the frog tax picture: https://www.reddit.com/user/littlemysticrobot/comments/14ggho3/frog_tax/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
My cat is the typical, single brain celled ginger. I got a knock on the door today asking if he was lost from a woman who's been asked to scan his chip by a worried neighbour.
Upon investigation, the little shit has been hanging round the other end of the street and begging for food. In response, she's cooked him fresh meat every day and bought him a little house so he can keep dry. When we've worked it out, he's been having at least six meals a day for the last week. He's on steroids and I thought they were making him poorly, but no, his distended belly was because he's such a gannet.
Make me feel better about my terrible parenting and tell me of your ridiculous pet stories.
