Making an RTS introducing a new genre tentatively called “Market Economy.” The NPCs are not directly controlled by the player. They autonomously discover, produce, and distribute the resources based on wages, supply, and demand.

The player will be the leader of the community and will obtain a portion of the resources through taxation. You can use these resources like you would in a normal RTS, but the manner in which NPCs switch jobs is different.

For example, a miner is being paid a low wage by the blacksmith. This miner could be incentivized to become a footsoldier if they are offered a higher wage by the player.

This new system allows my RTS to scale to thousands of NPCs because they are not micromanaged by the player.
