So, I’m the older brother of the brightest young woman ever, who has always wanted to be a dentist. Her journey has become a bit derailed and I think she’s getting discouraged, and I really could some help trying to help her continue on the path.

She just graduated from Siena in NY with a degree in Biology. She applied to nearly every dental school that made sense for her, and none of them accepted her. (I know it’s like the second-most competitive medical field.) So now she’s living back home with our parents.

She’s been working as an assistant in two offices, and just been trying to keep her head above water. I know she also doesn’t have the best rapport with one of the dentists she works for so that’s wearing on her a bit as well. I can feel the dread she’s experiencing and I fear she’s slowly losing her passion to chase the dream.

What might the next steps be for an aspiring dentist with experience and a Bio degree, but who hasn’t been able to get into any dentistry schools yet? What options are there now?
