My question is more focused on the Amish, who are a fairly isolated German-speaking minority living mainly in the United States with a growing population - their population doubles every 20 years.

- Will general society have a less favorable view of them? (This could paradoxically increase their retention rate, which is already high - 85%, I believe it was lower during the 20th century - for such a hard-line religion/sect).

- Would the Senate have granted them the right to stop schooling at 14 in this timeline?

- Do you think that certain candidates / ideologies would have had strong opinions one way or the other about them?

And if they felt that American society no longer welcomed them for one reason or another, is there a possibility that they might emigrate to Latin America? Or even to Germany & the German colonies. (This seems unlikely to me unless an agreement is negotiated between their community and the German govs, as they are pacifists and would not want to have to do military service or endure state intrusion into their lives).

As for the Old Order Mennonites / Old Colony Mennonites, they are less attached to their respective nations than the Amish, who have been in the United States for centuries. So they'll probably do what they continued to do in our timeline, i.e. move to different countries in America, depending on which ones are more open to them, and maybe some will even go to the German territories.
