/r/dogs is a place for dog owners of all levels of knowledge, skill, and experience to discuss all topics related to dogs. This subreddit is a great starting point for a lot of information, but you should always verify and expand upon what you've read from reputable sources before putting it to use in your daily life. Advice on this forum is not a substitute for advice from a trained and credentialed professional.
Thank you all for your understanding during the blackout. While the Admins have been saying there’s been no impact, advertisers are beginning to pause campaigns on Reddit.
Going forward r/dogs will be available.
We want to ensure our educational resources such as the wiki and searchable past posts remain accessible to all, whether logged in users or not. Therefore, instead of keeping the subreddit private, all new posts will be placed in the modqueue and require manual approval. As a preview of the consequences if our access to functional mobile moderation tools is removed, we will only be moderating from desktop during this time period. (Of course, since we are busy professionals who are generally at our work computers it would be “unethical” to use our work computers for Reddit, feel free to use your imagination on how sporadic this will end up being based on what percentage of the mod team you think are actively working and don't have continuous access to a private computer throughout the day.)

Complain. Message the mods of r/reddit.com and r/reddit, who are the admins of the site; message u/reddit; submit a support request; comment in relevant threads on r/reddit, such as this one; leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
-
Spread the word. Let your friends know on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you personally know who moderates a subreddit join the coordinated mod effort at r/ModCoord. (Don't bully or harass mod teams about it, though!)

Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely for the rest of the month or year - instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!

Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible.
