Scientists met earlier this month in Australia to plan an observatory on the lunar farside. The project has a sense of urgency. Now that NASA is committed to a lunar presence, the radio environment is going to get very noisy. “It’s only going to get louder. The sooner we can do this, the better” (supercluster.com)

NASA has put the anticipated VERITAS mission to Venus on an indefinite hold. It would fill the massive gaps in our knowledge about Venus, and help scientists determine what causes a potentially habitable planet to develop an inhospitable atmosphere.
