Posts about Food and Drink
My daughter's daycare requires name/date labels on all food/drink. Probably a US law or something, regardless, its added work, but for a good reason. Anyway, I bought those cheap paper labels because they were cheaper than the plastic ones, not realizing that they would tear and stick to the containers, I spent too much time peeling crappy labels off our Tupperware.
Good news, you still can use the cheap ones. Just slap some masking tape down first and you have a peelable label.
This is just the first part of my hack if you have daycare kids that require these similar labels. I actually only went to printable labels because I was spending so much time writing the labels manually, directly on the masking tape. So this naturally because a merger of both things.
However, The worst part was making the labels in Microsoft Word for each month because the label editor doesn't increment dates automatically like excel, and every month the days are different, and its just a nightmare updating them manually. So I created a python script to do it all for me and export into the label template word document. I now have label templates for the entire 2023 year ready for printing rather than having to write the labels manually. I cannot reference my code or anything as its against the community rules, but just an FYI for additional things to look into if you have some background in programming. Work smart, not hard.
