2pm kick-off
Where?
Vicarage Road, Watford
Televised?
Sky Sports. NBC or whatever abroad.
Team form
L/L/W/L/D
Kiko is back. Nkoulou should be back training soon. Gosling back into the 25-man squad after Fletch left for NY Red Bulls. Troost and Sarr are out.
Predicted Lineup
---------------------Foster---------------------
---Kiko---Cathcart---Samir---Kamara---
--Cleverley---Louza---Sissoko--
----------Kalu---King---Dennis-----------
Prediction
One week we fall apart against an underwhelming Palace at home. The next we get a clean sheet and our first point at Old Trafford since 1985. It was an allright performance against the Devils. We gave them way too many chances but they had a bad day and didn't take them. A point where we didn't expect one. A couple more of those and we stand a chance.
Now we go against the Gunners who are on their way to a top 4 finish and in incredible form. Add to that our terrible home form and you have a recipe for disaster. I'm expecting something similar to Palace. Decent first half and then we collapse during the second half.
My hopes of King not making the starting XI and of seeing Kalou for the first time are still alive but deep down I know Roy will never change his starting lineup. One can hope.
COYH!
Watford 1-3 Arsenal
FINAL RESULT
Watford 2-3 Arsenal

In this post, I am analyzing the Club Selection Arsenal FC 29 May '23 & League Selection English 29 May '23 packs using the Mimo's Rating framework v2. Mimo's Rating is an alternative rating to Overall Rating for a card's ability as a generalist of a position. Here's a link to my compilation of other resources on EFootball Knowledge.
Due to the quantity of questions I get I will be unable to answer questions like 'how does this player compare to that'. EFHub has a very good comparison tool that you should check out.
Club Selection Arsenal FC 29 May '23
https://i.redd.it/l0ie35i1lo2b1.png1. Gabriel Jesus 96 - A+ Tier
This, more or less is very similar to his 96-rated NC Version.
Jesus's profile is basically the most stereotypical stats profile of a Goal Poacher CF -- fast, good dribbling, high balance but then physically weak and bad aerially.
I think his profile fits two CF formations more. He is short and have low physical contact so probably not a good fit for central CF or sole CF.
The biggest problem would be his standard form.
https://i.redd.it/3ude1mjblo2b1.png2. Tomiyasu 91 - A Tier
While only 91-rated, this Tomiyasu is a very nice buff in physical contact from base (+7). This fits his defensive fullback playstyle very nicely so he is a contender for the defensive RB position with free france Pavard as this is a rare playstyle with very few cards in the position (mostly other versions of Tomiyasu -- this is his third club selection card and POTW Kounde/Chelsea Azpilicueta)
It is also important to note that he can be equivalent to 97-rated as CB if trained as CB. You would need to add Man-marking, Blocker, Acrobatic Clear, and fighting spirit to him. The performance of a CB with inactivated playstyle is widely debated. For me I strongly prefer buildup but some people really like it so to each his own I guess -- but stats-wise he looks solid on all front except for his standard form which is a shame if we are talking about a card you invest so much in.
https://i.redd.it/4sqvio2amo2b1.png3. Martinelli 94 - A Tier
Just a standard-form, all-round Roaming Flank with good heading. I am not sure that he is a buff from base as they nerf his dribbling/passing from base and speed too, all which I would argue are key LWF stats.
https://i.redd.it/5w9qeby8oo2b1.png4. Zinchenko 94 - A Tier
As LB he's slow, but solid all-round other than his lack of defending skills and his standard form.
He can also play LMF and CMF quite okay, but nothing special.
https://i.redd.it/i8ttjpfloo2b1.png5. Partey 94 - A- Tier
We have a mini Vieira again, B2B CMF/DMF with good defense and speed for running into people.
The issue is standard form. His POTW version looks a lot better but that one leans towards CMF while this one is more DMF.
https://i.redd.it/zzvc1j4woo2b1.png6. Jorginho 93 - A- Tier
He's slow but as he is orchestrator that doesn't matter anyway. He is good defensively, good on the ball, and has solid passing. I see him in the same group as Bennacer, Locatelli, Brozovic so you can use him as your pivot especially if you play possession or pass around a lot.
Also Unwavering, but only a slight buff from base.
https://i.redd.it/eeol32ecpo2b1.png7. Ramsdale 93 - B Tier
https://i.redd.it/irmj7t6vpo2b1.pngGreat reach, good parrying, but his GK Awareness is low. Standard form too.
8. Holding 90 - B Tier
https://i.redd.it/8w4mrmizpo2b1.pngVery generic CB. Nothing particularly bad other than the Standard form but nothing good either.
League Selection English 29 May '23
I'll only cover the top cards in this pack as there's a lot.
https://i.redd.it/7fo6qvr3lo2b1.png1. Guimaraes 95 - A+ Tier
Guimaraes is one one-touch pass away from greatness. He has the Locatelli, Bennacer, Brozovic, Jorginho profile -- CMFs who are good on the ball, good defensively, and can pass well as well -- but he is possibly the strongest card in this category of players. He's two-footed and unwavering form. Getting close to the end-game quality.
The problem? He doesn't have one-touch pass which is absolutely critical for his position and role, but with skill training that can be fixed. One-touch pass is a bit of a rare skill though. Interception would also be a very good quality of life skill to add.
A+ Tier, but easily lower S with one-touch pass and interception as a pivot.
https://i.redd.it/0yakj969qo2b1.png2. Walker 95 - A+ Tier
Good buff from base.
I guess just like IRL. He's very fast and physical and has man-marking/interception so a player for pocketing fast wingers. His defensive stats are nothing special though.
I don't like his standard form and lack of crossing ability, but then again just his speed and physicality should be nice enough defensively.
https://i.redd.it/nlh6961jso2b1.png3. Romero 94 - A Tier
Nice buff because the buff goes to tackling. I think he's a Rudiger-lite, but not as fast and standard form. I think nice defensive stats but very average physically/aerially.
https://i.redd.it/d7x9px4yso2b1.png4. Gnonto 92 - B+
Just want to point out that he is equivalent to 94 rated as LWF/RWF and is super-sub. Also he is an absolute beast at dribbling with him having ball roll (Double Touch + Flip Flap + Sole Control) and him having very high balance + good physical in addition to being super-sub.
https://i.redd.it/op5yrdx9to2b1.pngFor the Arsenal pack, a lot of standard form again including the top card of the pack. You would have to be an Arsenal fan to enjoy this pack. Just feels a bit sad for Arsenal fans that Konami intentionally plan for this pack to come the day after the season ends but well we know what happened.
The English pack has an interesting target with Bruno Guimaraes. He looks near end-game for his role as a potential orchestrator pivot/holding midfield if you give him one-touch pass(and interception would be very nice)
Other than that Walker is a unique card, but standard form. Gnonto looks fun but standard form. Romero is alright but standard form. Overall I can't say these are good packs for F2P but whales can enjoy the unique selections these packs have to offer.
