Aphrodisias Monumental Gate, Aydın The Tetrapylon, the monumental columned entrance to the Sanctuary of Aphrodite, has 16 columns supporting the ornate pediments on either side. Anastylosis (One-to-One reconstruction), in which 85% of the original blocks were used, was completed in 1991.

Yesterday I was at Aphrodisias ancient city where located in Midwest Turkey and it was one of the most amazing ancient city places ever i have seen. This is Sebasteion monument which means Temple of the Emperors. One fragment shows us about Augustus and Nike (still more then 50 piece here:))

Prof. Kenan Erim was a Turkish archaeologist who excavated from 1961 until his death of the ancient city Aphrodisias in Turkey. He dedicated his life to Aphrodisias, and He was buried near the magnificently restored main gate.May Kharon guides to him passing through River Styx.
