It's nostalgia overload as we discuss the most influential gaming system ever released! The original PlayStation, later called PSOne, brought a new attitude toward gaming. PSX is arguably the most influential gaming system ever. It changed the face of console gaming and we're here to discuss it.

Right now, it's the only option we have. We all wanna do something to help, and really, none of us are sure if this is the best way to help out. But we can't just give up now, can we. And knowing something's not right but doing nothing about it is just as bad. We know what that will bring. I think we know all too well. That's why we have to go: to prevent history from repeating itself.

I’m cool with the idea of Fede’s new Alien film and contrary to what I’ve seen of this sub, any trepidation is not based in the cast being younger. But if I could make an Alien film, I’d do a follow-up to Alien Resurrection set 25-30 years later.

I wouldn’t bring back Call or anyone else, it would just be Ripley, or Ripley’s clone, showing her having adapted to life on future Earth and the further conflict between her and Weyland Yutani Corp. Given how she (with several failed attempts) and the Queen got brought back to life, along with the Xenomorphs also being resurrected themselves, you can build upon the idea of the corp still wanting that.

The way I see it, Ripley has gone into hiding to avoid being found by Weyland Yutani. She’s totally isolated herself and future tech makes getting off the grid far easier. She’s found it hard to adapt to her new life but is willing to do so and live as someone else. She’s managed to move places to avoid being found, the company have been following breadcrumbs but never finding her.

As for what actually happens conflict wise that can give us Aliens, I’d say there’s a rogue faction of deserters from the Corp who find her and claim that they want to destroy the company from within. And they want to do that via exposing their unethical experiments with the Aliens. Only problem is that there’s no evidence because they’ve not had success in all these years.

Plus the company made sure to erase all records indicating what they had done. So the only way to prove it is for Ripley to be captured, for them to use Ripley’s DNA to breed the Aliens and for that to then be exposed. But in the process stuff goes wrong, the Aliens break out. Don’t know how the story would end, could set up a sequel, could have a satisfying end with Weyland Yutani finally falling apart.

Now this is based on my memory of Alien Resurrection and not at all a detailed plot, but what do you guys think of that storyline? I feel like it would be a decent Alien 5 (I’d give it a working titles of Alien: Infiltration) and could close out the Ripley led films.
