the WWE SuperCard Subreddit - the best place for SuperCard discussion on reddit. if you don't see a theme with The Fiend, use old.reddit.com/r/wwesupercard or simply choose "Visit Old Reddit" from the right corner dropdown. also, submissions aren't allowed at this time and probably won't ever be because there are too many idiots who play this game and I'm not babysitting every single thing they submit, but you can still comment.

OC

I was just looking at the Royal Rumble and WWE/WHC archive, and two names really stood out as sore thumb. The first one is Alberto Del Rio, and the other one is Sheamus.

Now don't get me wrong about Sheamus, he is a shoot style wrestler and has a pretty good hand about in ring psychology. He can mash well with the powerhouses and high flyers and is a fairly decent promo guy though not on the level of the other main event level talent at that point of time. Despite all that, he was not good enough to win Royal Rumble, win WWE championship and WHC beating the likes of Cena and Triple H in the span of three years. It was like a Brock Lesnar push was given to this guy. Even WWE does not really recognize these title reigns and Royal Rumble wins and they literally ignore his single's push when talking about him.

On the other hand, Alberto Del Rio is someone who completely baffles me. Sheamus has many things going for him, but Alberto was not that good of an in ring talent, he was mediocre promo. He was on the wrong side of 30 when he made his debut and his gimmick did not really stood out and was called poor man's JBL. There is not a single thing about his championship reign that I can recall except for Punk roasting him on mic.

They had guys like Ziggler, Punk and hosts of other superstars that were more over, but they were not getting that backing, but both these guys were pushed to the moon. What do you think that these guys were getting the push before the likes of Shield and Daniel Bryan got their opportunities. Its like that we go straight from Ruthless Aggression to Punk because despite all the push, nothing from Sheamus and Alberto really stood out.
