This is a subreddit dedicated to satirically mocking those people who, blinded by their own nostalgia, believe certain things in the past to be unequivocally better than today. We place a special emphasis on music, because this subreddit was created after annoyance over "born in the wrong generation" attitude often expressed by fans of 60s/70s rock.

Last week during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Andy read Theo James a tweet from a fan asking if he’d be interested in portraying George Michael in a biopic as the fan thought he’d be perfect for it. Theo’s response was “I’d love that!”. That question/response gained attention with George Michael’s family immediately issuing a statement that they do not endorse any potential project. Then Adam Lambert also criticized the idea in an instagram comment earlier this week.

Personally, as a Theo James fan, I think he could be a good fit IF a biopic would ever happen. The biopic does not currently exist, however. It is simply a rumor due to Theo answering that question. But the criticism from Adam Lambert has raised the question of representation in film as George Michael was a gay man and gay actors should be allowed more opportunities to play gay characters (whether a fictional character or a real person). There is a slight hypocrisy in Adam’s criticism however as he was supportive of Rami Malek portraying Freddie Mercury. As far as I know, Freddie never labeled himself but had relationships with both men and women. Theo James does share other similarities with George Michael as they both share British and Greek ethnicity. In regards to physical appearance, there may be similarities there as well. I do not necessarily believe that Adam himself wants the opportunity if it ever arose but if that were true, I do not believe Adam would be the perfect fit just because he is also gay.

And also, where’s does thar leave actors such as Jonathan Bailey, Luke Evans and Matt Bomer?

Thoughts?
