Posts about Nacon
Nacon is part of the BigBen group, who a week ago (May 22nd-25th) held a press event to show off various games Nacon studios are working on, with 9 games in a playable state and a further 4 games announced, all aiming to release before the end of this year.
The full press release with details of all the games on show can be found here: https://corporate.nacongaming.com/en/2023/05/review-of-bigben-week-6/
Here we have Nacon promoting the games it plans to release before the end of this year, and similar to Nacon Connect a couple of months ago, no mention at all of TDUSC.
We are still working on the assumption TDUSC is coming in 2023, based on the delay announcement last year. That also stated they planned a beta testing phase "long before it releases". Another year on from that announcement, we've still yet to see any gameplay, no update on either release date or any schedule for beta tests.
If they are still on track for a 2023 release it seems an odd decision to keep avoiding their own publisher's events that are focused on promoting their upcoming games launching this year.
It is fairly common knowledge at this point that Blood Bowl 3 has launched in a… less than ideal state which has caused frustration across the online Blood Bowl community. What may not be as well known is exactly how limited BB3’s league admin tools are (in actuality they are almost no admin tools whatsoever). Over the past weekend admins from over 50 leagues, across all three platforms (PC, Xbox and Playstation) came together to discuss the issues we are collectively facing with trying to bring our leagues to Blood Bowl 3.
After extensive discussion we decided that our best course of action would be to reach out to Cyanide and Nacon directly via an open letter attempting to provide constructive and measured feedback as to the very minimum level of commitment that we would need from them to be able to set up and run our leagues in BB3. In the interest of full transparency we have also decided to share this with the wider community as well and can confirm that at least one news site has also picked up this story (Wargamer). I have attached this letter to this post. If anyone has any questions feel free to post them here.
A few hours ago Nacon published its latest financial report Q4 2022-23 (link to article)
It is intended for investors to read, not gaming news as such, but it does contain a few paragraphs on how the last year went and prospects for 2023-24.
Outlook for the 2023-2024 financial year
FY 2023-2024 will be marked by a high level of publishing activity with around twenty games to be released over the period compared to 13 games released in previous year.
The first half of the year will see the release of the highly anticipated The Lord of the Rings GollumTM , as well as RoboCop: Rogue City, Cricket24 and Rugby24, the official game of the Rugby World Cup to be held in September.
No mention of TDUSC.
This does say around 20 games to be released but only mentions a few by name, so not mentioning one specific title doesn't mean the worst. It shouldn't be taken to mean that TDUSC cannot launch in the first half (Apr-Sept 2023), but given how little we have seen of the game so far and its absence from the recent Nacon Connect, I don't think it's a big surprise to think TDUSC won't launch before Oct.
The latest info we have on the launch date is still the delay announcement from May 2022 where it was pushed back into "2023" with no specific month or quarter given to narrow it down. Nacon acknowledged this saying it was delayed into FY2023-24, which for them means Apr 2023 - Mar 2024.
If they are still on track for "2023", and are omitted from Nacon's headline titles for their first half, it seems the TDUSC launch window is Oct-Dec 2023. If it were to slip into Jan-Mar 2024 it would still hit Nacon's FY23-24 plan as a second half of the year title.
For now just speculation and hopefully we will find out more in the recently started TDUSC monthly newsletters.
Nothing currently to suggest a further delay, but if the TDUSC team do not feel confident the game will launch before Mar 2024, based on Nacon's reporting cycle, we might hear news in mid May. Fingers crossed that no news is good news.

key points: The BB3 Web App will be updated in the next couple weeks, with a lot of the fixes asked for in the letter: Key points are that the full suite of updates will hopefully be ready for season one (May), but they hoped to be able to update the BB3 Web App in the next few weeks with the following:
Ability to add additional admins/commissioners onto league boards, add and remove teams to ongoing competitions and to seed knockout competitions
Followed (again, the goal is for season 1) by the abilities to : advance each round manually; reset a match so it can be replayed if a crash occurs, admin specific match results, including SPP and gold and ticket teams for competitions without them needing to be on an admin’s friendlist.
