Ecological political philosophy to denote a nature-centered, as opposed to human-centered (anthropocentric), system of values. Don't let yourself be absorbed by the leftist or rightist thinking (it only hurts the environmental movement), choose centrist way with us.

Many Americans, Democrats and Republicans, are filled with despair about how their popular will is often denied by a voting system that mangles their intent. Ironically, the solution is the destruction of the Democratic and Republican parties in the USA that deny the popular will. How?

A subreddit to discuss political science. Political science is the scientific study of politics. It deals with systems of governance and power, and the analysis of political activities, political thought, political behavior, and associated constitutions and laws. Postings about current events are fine, as long as there is a political science angle. Rationality and coherent argument are encouraged, whereas ideological flamewars are strongly discouraged.

It's a common misconception that people become more conservative as they age. While liberals are more likely to become conservative if they do switch teams, the empirical evidence has demonstrated that political leanings are remarkably stable for the vast majority.

Young people are very left leaning and the trend appears to be continuing in that direction. Gen Z and Millennials are attributed with preventing the red wave in 2022. Turnout among young people had long been a challenge but the trend seems to be bucking too -- possibly because many who sat out because they didn't like the choosing between the lesser of two evils in 2016 saw first hand how elections have consequences even if the candidate on the ballot isn't your ideal match.

We are used to a regular flip flopping of the parties and many consider this an inevitable truth... But it isn't inevitable... for most of the twentieth century, democrats dominated federal politics.

This demographic shift has been predicted for a while. Old conservative people will die off and the young become the new majority. Is this finally coming to fruition based on the data we have and your gut instinct? If it happens, how will the Republican party try to remain relevant?
